I just saw him resurface when I watched the Night Of (2016). He was just Omar again and it was awesome. RIP young man.
Damn, brought my day down. The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, Hap and Leonard to name just a few, he was one of my favorite actors.
The cheese stands alone. That's a sad ending if it's true. I started re-watching The Wire a few weeks ago, he still kills me in the courtroom scene in season 2.
COMEDIAN FUQUAN JOHNSON AMONG 3 DEAD AFTER SUSPECTED OD ...4th Comic Hospitalized https://www.tmz.com/2021/09/04/comedian-fuquan-johnson-dead-drug-overdose-kate-quigley/ Fuquan was a regular the the comedy club down the street. Sad. Fentanyl... it's a killer.
That's the best part of that show. It's bleeding context. I didn't watch it while it aired and did see a number of scenes without having watched the show and I didn't get it either. I know you were in the industry in some fashion so maybe share the greatest scenes in your opinion that can be appreciated without context.
“Cunnilingus and psychiatry brought us to this” Yeah... context is necessary. I recorded the first few episodes of The Wire but haven't had a chance to dive in yet. If it even comes close to what David Chase accomplished with The Sopranos it will be worth the time spent.
Seems like Fentanyl is on pace to kill more people than meth. Here's the thing that I don't get. Are people doing it knowingly or is it just cut into the heroin or painkillers or whatever? What do I know from these things. All I know is that almost every time there's a heroin death Fentanyl is involved I've only actually seen a handful of episodes of The Wire, but I was so far out of the loop that I never caught up to speed. I know people do love them some Omar, and the episodes I did see were really good. Anyway, that's really too bad. I read that he had been struggling on and off for a long time. RIP. EDIT: I just read that it was Fentanyl, cocaine and heroin. I don't really get that combination. Sounds like Heath Ledger.
