With him playing so lights out, is this making him impossible to resign with all the contracts we gave out this year already and the contracts we still need to give out? I know we don’t need to give him Revis money but if he continues to perform at a high level like he is, he is going to want to get paid. I know I should be enjoying the ride this year, but with the talent that this team has, we can become a dynasty and rule not only the AFC East, but the AFC and posible the NFL.

i'm hoping that when the time comes, he'll remember how the organization helped him out with his child support issues... and mayhaps be unlike revis in his demands.

If he's willing to play for less than he's worth. I have a feeling we'll be asking a few guys to do that. Hopefully Rex is magical.

I wonder how many people will say trade Revis....

    Add a poll.

We will get him signed, he must love playing for Rex and his name his floating around everywhere now. Once Revis is truly back, paired with Cro, and Wilson gets over his rookie haze this will be a scary good secondary.

Coleman deserves a shout-out as well, COLEMAN!!!!

Cromartie should be a Jet for the next 5 years.

I think what we have to worry about is how many more children will he father between now and then... that could have a detrimental hit on our ability to afford him...

Should be, but I can't imagine that he will be. We've got a lot of tough decisions to make, and a lot of people are going to have to take the hometeam discount if they want to stay. I (unfortunately) don't think Cro will

I say the more kids the better. 20 years from now half the defense will be named Cromartie

Well if anybody can find a way to get it done, it's Tannenbaum..

I imagine Rex will push hard for Cromartie to be re-signed, probably at the expense of Holmes or Edwards. Also, the futures for Gholston, Woody, Thomas, and Ellis are very much up in the air.

If the Jets offer free childcare to their employees I think Cromartie would be a lock to return.

You can't accurately judge these types of questions until a new CBA is agreed to.

I didn't really like Cromartie until I saw how pissed off he looked on the bench after getting burnt by Moss. Often times in San Diego, it looked like he just didn't give a shit. Glad that it looks like he might finally be becoming a team player.

He was NEVER burnt by Moss. He had man coverage and was right by his side, that was a perfect throw, and a pefect catch.

This offseason, I think we keep two of the Holmes/Edwards/Cromartie bunch. I have a feeling Rex will fight hard to keep Cromartie on this team. He will say his whole defense is based off guys like him and in an NFL that is passing more than ever this year, it is important to have 3 CBs. I wouldn't be surprised either if they got rid of both Edwards and Holmes for being two knuckleheads and drafted a WR/another free agent pickup. Our philosophy is the ground game and defense so I don't think wide receivers are the most important priority for this team.

Cromartie has been good, he hasn't been lights out- he hasn't been revis 2009. i think we are getting carried away w/ his play which has been good but not great.

Don't get me wrong I am happy w/ him but there's a huge difference btw good and great.

I also think it is dangerous to pay a guy like this big guaranteed money on a long term deal. He strikes me as the type who will not work as hard once he gets paid.

This is what I'm hoping for also. Maybe the Jets can make more of the money guaranteed or something. Revis & Cromartie on their A-games @ the same time would be beautiful to watch.

Considering Cromartie's got all these children & baby mamas, I couldn't fault him for just going to the highest bidder. I'm sure lots of Jets enjoy playing under Rex but I doubt many of them would do it if someone else offers more $$$.

All athletes talk how they love their team but they spit out the same line when they sign with someone else for more money. The better Cromartie does this season, the smaller the chance I'm seeing the Jets keeping him for next season. Which is why I'm really hoping Revis gets 100% healthy by playoffs. Revis+Cromartie = heavy blitzing & still keeping your receivers locked down.

We've already seen Coleman's ceiling, so the Jets probably won't have another CB tandem like this again (unless Kyle steps up because I think his ceiling is pretty high).

Dont get ahead of yourself here. He has been decent but far from "lights out". Lights out was Revis last year. He singlehandedly shut down top receivers last year. Cromar is not on that level but has been decent. The main bright spot in a poor pass defensive team so far....

I think the excitement extends from the perspective of where we'd be without him and a lame-ass Revis right now... especially with last years secondary. He might not be great, but he's been very good and a big improvement considering we're without the messiah on the field.

Saying he hasn't been lights out because he wasn't Revis in 2009 is a poor argument.

Revis had the greatest season a CB has ever had.

You don't have to be THAT good to be playing lights out.

If Sanchez throws for 36 TD's and 10 interceptions is he not playing "lights out" out because Brady threw for 50 in a season?
