what does it say for the NFL when guys like Tim Rattay, Vinny Testaverde, Kerry Collins, David Garrard, Cleo Lemon, Derek Anderson, Gus Frerotte, Kyle Boller, Tavaris Jackson, Daunte Culpepper, and Brian Griese all played today? Not to mention Chad Pennington.
I happen to think Garrard is an effective quarterback. He is a good leader to boot. Anderson was highly erratic in college and I'm not surprised he has been up and down this year, but he is an NFL quarterback. Those other guys you listed do have all sorts of issues. Jackson does have some skills. He could develop into a serviceable starter down the road, but he is spotty right now. I think this is a typical year. If you go back and look at any of the previous 87 years, you'll find all sorts of sloppy QBs who started games.
Wasn't that Peter King's column lead in that I just read 5 minutes ago? It mainly says there have already been a ton of injuries this season.
