if rex decides to go with sanchez are you comfortable with clemens as the back-up? and shouldnt our rookie qb be mentored by a qb with more game time experience?

the front page here says clemens was horrendous today. why is this a surprise to anyone.

we should have kept chad at the least possible salary as a mentor and aging backup. that sounds a whole lot better than a second round draft bust. all jokes aside next off season we should look for another backup. i dont know what it is about clemens, he has the tools (i have always said he was a poor mans jeff garcia) but does not perform.

if we can get back on topic to a situation that i feel needs to be addressed. with all doubts sanchez will be the starter on opening day. im just concerned with the back-up situation being kellen clemens. anyone else concerned?

i actually still feel clemens might win out. with that being said, there aren't that many quality QB's out there.

I think jeff george said he wanted to play.

jeff george come on dude lets get real. the situation isnt anything to joke or bring up scrubs about. this situation could get ugly if clemens continues to fail as camp rolls on. rex ryan will go out and bring in a vet and clemens will be unemployed.

Clemens may be the backup, or the starter, which in turn would mean Sanchez will be the starter, or the backup.

I say cut them both and go with the Pizza Man with "Danny" Ainge as backup.

i agree with that, but lets see what happens with him over the next few weeks. i dont think he will become the answer all of a sudden but he could be a stop gap if they dont feel that sanchez is ready. that is the most likely scenario as far as i can tell. but they may be so damn enamored by sanchez that he could start which i think might be worse for the team.

either way time will tell, i dont think that anyone will be brought in at this point and we are probably going to battle with whichever of these 2 characters are deemed most likely to not lose the game.

Clemens starting off bad is not helping him and, but its a long way to go.

    Still.....

A known troll complaining about trolling? Really? If you wanted to cut back on the trolling around here, wouldn't the first step to be for you to stop posting?

And what veteran that is available do you have in mind?

This mentoring stuff is way overblown. Who mentored Peyton Manning? Tom Brady?

Exactly... it doesn't hurt if a guy has a year or two to learn behind a good veteran QB, but in the end that will not guarantee success. There have been loads of guys with potential sitting behind great QBs that never amounted to a hill of beans.

What if Ryan doesn't cut it this year, what if Clemens can't get it done? What if? :drunk: It's called back to the drawing board. That is what we got when we gambled for Favre. Learn to deal with it. Not you JWWS... the whining, trolling OP.
