Did anyone see Eric Mangini's Post game Interview. I knew it was a tough loss but it is always great to see the coaches feel it as well. You can tell this hurt everybody even Mangini had a knot in his throat. Seems like he wanted to cry. I loved the part when he said something along the line's that he doesn't know what to do come Monday being that there is no game to gameplan for. Also about the BB hug that he wasn't even concentrating on the moment. His mind was somewhere else. Just thought to point this out since I didn't see anyone else post this. Makes me feel good knowing that we have HC that cares and will try everything he can to make this team better for next year. As for today:shit:
No doubt he is a great coach. Think back to when we had Edwards...everything seemed to be a mess. With Mangini, even though we lost today, it seems that we still have a solid team and a direction. Never thought that with Sperm Edwards.
We will be fine. This was the least talented team in the AFC playoffs, quite honestly even the Chiefs had more talent than us. This team has been coached extremely well and overachieved all season, but against other top coaches in this league Mangini simply can't overcome the talent difference. He did so much in one year, now trust him to get more of that talent improved next year. I still feel we need another full year, but Mangini already looks ahead of schedule so who knows. The problem is the division we play in, those pesky Patriots will be difficult to dethrone. We're going to need to do it though to get those home games, which as shown today make a huge difference. This weekend, home teams won every single game. Next weekend, I think the home teams are going to win all the games again, but even if they don't it's a monumental struggle for the visiting teams. This Jets team will know that now, and now they will understand why you have to get up to play the Browns and Bills of the NFL.
I agree. Belichick may have got the best today in terms of gameplan, but you can tell that Mangini realized right away Belichick was doing something different than expected, and ADJUSTED. The KC/IND game shows Edwards still hasn't learned that. Sometimes another team's gameplan isn't really BETTER, it's just executed to perfection. You can't stop perfect execution. Brady had that today and played awesome. Their line figured out our blitz. That was impressive. I give the Pats credit for being prepared, but I give OUR team credit for trying to adjust. The Pats then readjusted and we couldn't find another niche to get pressure.
Speaking of KC how about LJ throwing Herm under the bus in the postgame on the field interview..They knew we were going to run it they stopped us and we didn't have plan B..
I agree with all these positive thoughts, but there is one troubling negative for me and that is that Chad, once again, killed our last best chance with a bad decision. Sure, there were other plays, particularly the lateral, that was the real game changer, but Chad often makes a stupid play when it matters most. Maybe too much time hanging with Interceptaverde.
LJ was right. I can not believe that they didn't pull Trent Green and put in Huard after they had no first downs in the first half. That is a pathetic showing by Herm.
I didn't come out of the game feeling we were outcoached. I felt we were outplayed by their QB and caught a few bad breaks.(Namely Vilma's whiff, dropped int's and that aborted screen. Is there a person with better luck than Brady?)
I thought Chad played very well yesterday. Brady had the luxury of knowing th blitz was coming and just finding the gaps in the defense. Chad was given many more different looks from the Pats D because they have the personel to get to the QB and drop 7 and 8 guys in coverage, we do not. The game came down to one thing, Personel....not Chad.
