Please guys,we are overachieving in every possible way.We have little talent and this team is playing very hard but lets get serious. We will end up at 8-8 at best and that's ok for this year. Our defense is ANYTHING but good right now.Lets say we got into the playoffs for some unknown reason, do you really think our defense can hold up against elite teams? No. it can't. So everyone relax and enjoy a better season then we thought but lets not jump ahead of ourselves. This 11 12 win talk is getting a little too crazy and when people start saying things like that they don't know football. We have beaten bad teams so calm down. Once we get 3 or 4 impact players in the draft next year maybe 10 or 11 but not now.

I think 10-12 is a stretch -- but as i have said (and others ) numerous times -- this is a team that was a kick away from the AFC Championship game two years ago and last year EVERYTHING went wrong. We had to use 5 qbs last year -- and both lines were decimated and all of a sudden we are the Kotite jets?? It was a typical media take -- giving absolutely no perspective to any story. This is a better team (w/ the exception of the running game) than began last season. If we can beat bad teams -- without a hiccup -- there are 10 wins right there. I dont think that we are that good -- not to screw up at all but we have 7 games against teams with a total of 7 wins (7-31).

We have a very easy schedule! Only NE and CHICAGO are powerhouses. CHAD almost always beats TOMATO CANS! If we lose those two game against the strong teams and win all the games vs the Tomato cans, presto: we will finish 11 and 5. BUT the danger lies in the playoffs. When we play top teams we struggle! How many times has CHAD beaten NE? One and Done or two and through is not what we want! Only a SB win will satisfy us and that will be in the near furure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    10-6

I said they'd be 8-8 this year and I'm sticking with that. But, 10-6 is NOT impossible given our schedule.

10-6 is not impossible. I doubt it, too, since we really aren't that good. Buffalo, Miami, Cleveland, Houston, Detroit, Green Bay, Oakland, and all those other teams view us as a team they could easily get a win against. We can't run, we can't stop the run, and in many ways, we just aren't a good team. We've yet to prove we're much better than these teams. We're probably about a half-notch above them.

The difference, I hope, is that we're going to keep fighting when some of these teams, by the time we play them, will have given up the ghost.

10 wins is not too far fetched, however we need to win all the games that we shoudl win...the hard stretch of games is over....nows the time to win games and not make mistakes...if we can do that, we can win 9 or 10

Any team that we play from here on in that has any credible running game and any half-way decent QB has a good chance of beating us, elite team or not.

I'd like to join the dream wagon to the playoffs, but we do not have the supporting cast.

As a Jets fan, I'd love it if we made it to the playoffs, but it really is not likely.

If we had a normal NFL schedule we would probably be lucky to win four games. But with this schedule its almost impossible for this team not to win 8-10 games if Chad stays healthy no matter how good or bad the coaching, how little effort the team continues to play with, or how bad the defense plays. We have 8 games left against teams we should be either favored against or even. We will probably never ever see a schedule this easy again. we play 8 games against the two worst division in football (excluding the afc east). Two games against Cleveland and Oakland and 4 games against Miami and Buffalo. Can it get any easier than this. Yes, I know it sounds like a college schedule.

An easy schedule can make a bad team good as winning breeds winning. The 2004 team was an awful team that convinced themselves they were good in large part due to a soft early schedule. We have a batter oppurtunity this season.

We play 2 good teams the rest of the season NE and Chicago. After NE the hardest game left on schedule is either Minnesota or Miami. Which tells one what kind of schedule we have. Give this schedule to any team in the league and they automatically become playoff contenders.

As long as Chad stays health we cannot help but win 8-10 games this year. Next year will be a problem when we play a normal NFL schedule. But thats next year and we should enjoy the wins this year even if it is like Northwestern playing an entire schedule against division II teams.

Does anyone realistically see us losing to Detroit or Cleveland. To beat these teams all we have to do is show up as they beat themselves. Look at the Buffalo game we were outclassed and dominated. Outgained by almost two to one in yards. but Losman handed us the game. The rest of the schedule is easier than Buffalo. The Jets have been horrible in 5 of the 6 games they have played but still won three. Won might be a severe word it might be better to say those three teams lost the game they played against us and we just happened to be there. If the Jets can just raise the level of their play from horrible to bad or very bad they can be a playoff team with this schedule.

The team can only improve. The Defense cannot play any worse. We can't tackle any worse. The LB play cannot be worse. Miller will either get better or he will not play. The run and pass blocking both appear to be getting better. So far almost no one on this team played well other than Chad, Coles and Rhodes. The rest of the team has played with little emotion or effort. This can only improve. I am not saying this team will become good but they don't need to play good to win with this schedule. They just need to show up, not make mistakes, keep Chad healthy, and let these bad teams beat themselves.

let's put it this way...if we can actually get into the playoffs, that means that our d probably has gotten a lot better, therefore we will have as good a shot as anyone in the playoffs......10 wins is not unrealistic, look at our damn scheduale.....as of right now, 9-7 would be my guess

We could easily lose to Detroit and Cleveland.

Take Detroit for example: They have a pretty good running back and Kitna is ranked like 10th in the NFL, I think. If we come out flat on Offense this weekend against a team that is hungry after winning its' first game this week, expect us to lose and lose miserably.

Our D is just plain horrible. With virtually no pass rush on Kitna, he is good enough to put points on the board against us. Kitna has had some untimely interceptions this year, but I would not pencil in a Jets W just yet.

We have come out flat against every team this year. When have we shown any effort this year, absent the Indy game? The teams effort, lack of emotion and tackling has been an embarrasmment. But does it matter these teams beat themselves. Did you watch the Detroit-Buffalo game. Detroit was begging for Buffalo to win that game. They did almsot everything in their power to let Buffalo win. Fortuntaly for them Buffalo is just a little better at losing.

I agree with you Jones could run all over us like Mcgaheee did, Brown did and every back we have faced has done. But Detroit like Buffalo and Miami specialize in losing. We did nothing to beat these teams. We did not win those games we just didn't lose them. Yes Detroit could have a great day and roll over us but its unlikley. If the game is close expect us to win. I will take Pennington vs. a bad team every time.

Detroit is very similar to the jets. They have been in all their games late -- except Chicago. They have not been blown out. They have played 4 playoff teams (0-4) and two bad teams (1-1).

This is a very losable game.

"We have beaten bad teams so calm down."

This is exactly my point when I say we should win 10-11 games. We are gonna face 7 more bad teams this year, just from our pancake schedule! All this team has to do is show up, watch the horrible team beat themselves, and play decent. The Jets are a good team, have been showing it, and with our schedule, they are easily a playoff team.
