The main reason for this is simple, there are far too many Misleading or Incomplete thread Titles. It seems many start a thread just to be 1st to post a story, create a controversial topic or just don't put forth any effort to create a useful thread. This isn't twitter and there isn't a race. Going forward, ALL Threads that are based on a linked story SHOULD : Be correctly Formatted Title (See Below) Include the Headline or "Gist" of what the actual story is about. Include the actual link (Preferably the ORIGINAL SOURCE) FORMAT: The 1st word should have either the source or the source's name, followed by the headline or topic e.g. CIMINI: Jets "Allegedly" found tampering ESPN: Woody Johnson caught masturbating to twilight NY POST: Sanchez stats have him dead last TWITTER: Manish tweets "I have a credible source" Then inside there should be a link posted to the ORIGINAL story and the full ORIGINAL story if possible... Hey, What does "Original Story" mean!? It means DO NOT post a link to a site who has a link to a blog who then has a link to the original story. Do your due diligence and trace it back to the ORIGINAL writer/contributor. Not to a 4th hand article that has lost credibility to the facts of the story. How NOT to Format: Jets Tampered! Woody's Woodpeckerin to twilight Sanchez Sucks Even the NY POST says so! Manish at it again!!!! Then you open the thread and it just says "Discuss", "We suck" or a small clip of the article with no link etc... This is a very simple formatting and very simple solution towards helping the TGG in cleaning up the mess of duplicate and useless threads that have become way too common and tend to not only flood the board but makes it a pita to constantly clean up. So, please help TGG. If you forget, just look at the title of this thread as it is formatted correctly  Also, please don't complain about the new formatting. There is absolutely no reason that this should be a problem. I'm sure it'll take a little while to get used to but in the end it should make it that much more informative & manageable. *While at the moment there is no "penalty" in place Just remember, It's easier for us to throw a thread in the trash than for us to fix the title  Thank You NYC Sanitation Dept. (GangGreen Division)
So if there are multiple sources does MULTIPLE SOURCES work? I'm kind of afraid as to how this will work once the season begins with the mass amount of threads that pop up after a loss.
Just throw one of them on it, if Cimini, Manish and Peter King all say it just put one of those guys.
So far it, it looks good. For the offseaosn this makes a lot of sense and quicker to skim through the thread titles
Exactly preferably the ORIGINAL source. It'll clear up any confusion that way That's why we started this now, Once the season starts everyone should be used to it and the board will look nice and neat
This is a good idea Tee. I can't believe Woody Johnson polishes his pipe to Twilight though...what a loser!
Thanks to everyone who has been following this so far, and thanks to Royal Tee taking the time to write this up. The forum is already a lot easier to read and navigate today! I hope everyone agrees and continues to follow these rules.
who is going to enforce this? who really cares? and who the fuck made you boss? in all honesty this is an internet forum for a football team. there is going to be alot of shit to go through, there are going to be people hoping to be the first to break the news on tgg. there are going to be TONS and TONS of bullshit posts. my suggestion is deal with it or watch half the posters walk away because its being run by the gestapo.
... TE mods will enforce it. Petro made them the enforcers and as owner he is the boss. My suggestion is take your legion of upset followers and go now. You'll both be missed I'm sure of it.
It's a simple thing that is not really worth that type of reaction... Thx LTJF... I didn't think it would catch on this quick but it is nice to see... Actually does help neaten things up a bit. Hope it stays. Thx BN! afa Woody goes, .. I'm sure it's even worse than twilight. lol....It was a little while ago, I think the green helps me blend in...
I like it. I was on nfl.com earlier and just gave up trying to get any information from it - its just a mass of vid clips, adverts and graphics - its near impossible to actually find any news or information on there (at least quickly or at a glance).
So far I like it. Makes it easy to see what's going to be an article and what's going to be something else.
