Watching the Broncos vs. Chargers game I noticed that Rivers is very good when he can hit his #1 option. He tends to stare at the #1 option and either hit him right away or wait for him to clear zone coverage to hit him. Once he has to check to another option it seemed like he struggled to complete passes a lot of the time.

It seems like our DC should be able to take advantage of that. We can play bump & run blitz up the middle with Harris. We can try baiting him into throwing into what he thinks will be a cleared zone right to a DB.

Has anyone seen this too or am I crazy?

He strikes me as kind of a dumb hillbilly. I mean he has ability and he's a decent QB, but in my opinion he's a tad overrated.

I think he has a little Ryan Leaf in him.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

He's done great this year, but he hasn't faced a team with a pass rush yet, or a NT who can dominate a center. They are missing their all pro in hardwick, and Jenkins is facing a backup.

Rivers causing turnovers is big, because their running game won't do it and is lethal.

No doubt about it, this will be the best offense we've faced this year.

I think Antonio Gates poses a tremendous match-up problems for our LB's who tend to be big and bulky and not great in coverage. Probably should have Rhodes shadow him.

Gates is the weapon I'm most worried about on the Chargers seeing how LT is not going to be 100%. That said, I think our Safeties can handle the job.

Yea, no doubt, but I foresee Rhodes as the guy most likely to be on him. If not it could be a long day.

A very average arm. I do not think he is dumb. Good leadership qualities. Don't know about picking up second and third receivers. Hopefully he won't have the time.

I pretty much agree here. In my view, the Jets D has two problems.

One of em is covering the short pass route to the back or TE. Both the fish and patsies got many yards this way.

The D's other problem is tie of possesion. Getting the offense in sync goes a long way to solving this one.

i think ST can be a big issue
the Pats killed us in the return game and ther field position , now if we let that Darren Sproles run wild like he did in the Denver game its gonna be very hard to win the game.

    Word.

Rivers is not an idiot, but he *is* a tough motherfucker on the field.

And don't underestimate his weapons after Gates, caues Jackson and Chambers have just as many yards. Plus, they'll probably use a few screen plays with Sproles.

His biggest weakness is his arm strength. Luckily, the Chargers pass protection is alright at best, and our front 7 is a looking a little better than just OK.

Our strength defensively is absolutely defending the deep pass. Between Revis' great coverage skills, and Rhodes' instincts, it's very rare that someone gets open downfield, and if they do, our pass rush usually forces a mediocre throw...

As others have said, our LBs struggle immensely in picking up receivers in the short zones. Maybe their communication is off, or maybe they just stink at it, but we're going to have to cross our fingers that focussing one of our Ss on the TE doesn't free up the WRs to make plays down field.

I KNOW that Revis can handle Chambers, but with the possibility of only having one deep S for the majority of the game, the idea of Lowery in deep coverage kind of worries me...

Let's hope Sutton & Co have this figured out

I'd like to see our D get some turnovers. It was disappointing that they couldn't get even one last week out of a guy that hadn't started a game since high school. We need some game changing plays.

I have no doubt the D will get turnovers if the pressure they've been applying continues. It's just a matter of time.
