This could be huge for Leon contract wise. If an agreement is not reached he'll have his chance to prove he can handle an increased workload. Its a sliver lining for hmi if they do not reach an agreement on an extension.

Why not give Leon what he wants 1 year guaranteed? He blows it, he can go make Peter King happy in New England.
Why would we do that? He's under contract already, why pay "1 year guarenteed"? when that would just cost the Jets more money. I'm all for a long term extension, but just saying "Here Leon, take an extra 4 million just for this season, and we'll decide late if we want to keep you" is a bad idea. I agree 100% 6 million is a bit much at this point. Give a 4 year deal worth 20 -22 and give him the guarenteed money that he wants. 12-15.
