Hell yeah – pile on Hackett. Since he’s been gone our offense has been a night and day difference and the development of puss-arm has been unbelievable.
So 5 years down and Callahan is the Jet's OC in waiting (maybe head coach) and Hackett's going to the Raiders. What a strange game this is.
like most jet fans i was very critical of hackett while he was the OC....... however, the personnel given to him by the past braintrust for his offense was not exactly textbook west coast personnel that is needed for success. the 2 most glaring weaknesses of the offense when hackett was here was the TE position and the WR position. yes we had talent there, but not west coast type talent. bottom line - we had some good games with that offense but it got so damn predictable - especially after pennington reached his pinnacle and the jets could not upgrade the TE and WR spots - along with the off line. so blame hackett and also blame the lugheads above him. as for the raiders - good luck - thats a marriage made in heaven. jil
He must be on vacation. Either that or he's having a helluva time trying to spin this one. He'll pull some insane stat out of his ass about Hackett's offenses though. You can pretty much guarantee it.
