patriots stepping up.. with new wide receivers we better grab randy mcmichael http://nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10040904
Our receiving corps was pretty darned good last year, if you ask me. We have to be able to stave off the tidal wave of Blitzers on Chad P first. Give Chad enough time and he will get the ball where it needs to be to be caught. We improved our O-line a lot last year with our 2 first round picks. Another piece or 2 to the O-line puzzle would not hurt and that is where I would concentrate if it were me. If Cotchery did not make such a quantum advancement last year, I may see your point, but all in all, I think we are fine with what we have. Maybe an upgrade to JMac, but that is as far as I would go and I think we can accomplish that in the draft. Additionally, we really may already have our man, in Brad Smith. He will be looking to contribute a lot more this upcoming year and I see his role expanding in this area.
McMichael is a lunatic. He has put up numbers, but he has terrible hands. He's a guy you'll ultimately end up cursing more than praising and then he just might be a public relations nightmare. -X-
Sorry I think U R greatly under estimating him. As a slot receiver ala WC with papa Brady chucking him the ball he will do quite well IMHO. It is again the known vs the unknown DC, He will catch the attention of the other sides DC as the season goes along & will have to be accounted for
And he just talks way too much shit. I remember watching many Dolphins games where the fins were down and out and McMichael would catch a first down pass and get up screaming and talking shit. No thanks, I dont want that here.
People are missing something here. They lost Dillon. That means Maroney is now the #1 guy. I don't think they want their #1 back returning kicks anymore. Welker returns kicks...AND punts...AND can get you a first down here or there. He's not great at anything, but he's good at everything. He'll help them.
Which is a better deal? Trading a 2nd and a 7th round pick for a 700yd slot receiver or Trading down in the 2nd round for a 1300 yd starting running back
Does not matter with Adilias Thomas and Vrabel inside and Wilfork in da middle the Pats will be able to shutdown anyones running game...Next
As of right now, its all on paper. Lets see how it translates on turf and grass before you make such lofty accusations.
Isn't Patrule the guy that was talking all kinds of trash in the Pats/Indy gameday thread when it was 21-3 NE, then completely disappeared?
I'm sorry, but McMichael is a huge threat and any of those that want to act like his off the field issues with his wife are really that big of an issue are completely fooling themselves. He has proven to be a better target than Chris Baker ever has been and I don't see why we shouldn't atleast offer him a contract.
