and try no to dink and dunk it......... we all need a healthy dose of our favorite psychiatric drug after experiencing the peak and fall within a span of 5 weeks.....not a terribly unusual event when you are dealing with the jets..... coming from this grizzled ole darksider, i have nothing to say that hasn't already been posted, talked about, shouted at, etc etc. no need to give the proverbial i told you so cause i was as caught up in the hype as the next guy - only to see it crash and burn without apparent reason. many times we just cannot explain these shifts in performance. these late season collapses are well documented - and usually do not involve major injuries, except for 1986. but they usually have a certain air about them - a slowly deflating balloon - thats gets started with the slightest twist of fate at one point during a single game. and from there on its a landslide. i do think we need some new blood at coordinator but, IMO, mangini should stay. but that isn't the most popular chioce today. me thinks they do have a big game in them for sunday - which of course will complicate any offseason plots about how to improve the team. jil
I've got a real bad case of Heartburn that started 4 weeks ago... I sat there threw the last 4 games in complete disbelief as if it were the worst of the worst Jets from over the years.... I've had breathing problems during these games as well... I've often sat there and thought - do the players and Mangini understand how SICK people feel watching them play - How embarrassing they have been these past weeks.... If this were baseball it would be the 9th inning down by 1, bases loaded - no outs and your 3-4-5 hitters never take the bat off their shoulder and see 9 straight strikes.... You're talling me you have an OL of 5 practice squad guys and you can't get to the QB, you don't blitz? You don't run the ball? I'm pretty damn ILL.
If we come back and beat Miami, I'll probably think Mangini should be back. Get rid of Sutton though. Even Schottenheimer can go.
