http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80f75cb5 Wheather we get Cutler or not , which I think is highly unlikely , I like the attitude and focus of Kellen and Brett. Eric Ainge does look like a rabbit in headlights though. One thing I noticed , look at the camera angle between Brett and Kellen
Ainge doesn't seem very confident but the other two definitely do. I like what I heard from both of them.
Sweet video! Both Kellen and Brett look very comfortable in the spot light and ready to take on the challenge, Ainge not so much, i like these guys at quarter back, lets see if one of thems got it.
its interesting to notice the level of comfort with the media between the three of them. Obviously Kellen looks the most comfortable, since he's been here the longest. I'll give Clemens one thing - he looks more confident than ever before. I need to see it on the field though. Ratliff just got a haircut.
Ratliff really seems like he has his head on straight. That was the first time I heard him speak, and he seems pretty confident.
Ratliff reminds me of Kenny O'brien on field and in person. If he is as good a KO on the field we could have a good QB for a long time.
Listening to Ratliff is very interesting. He comes off as very comfortable, very confident guy who is working hard to be the QB for this team. Clemens give the answers a seasoned vet would, but at times sounds un-sure. Ainge looks and sounds like the kid I played basketball against yesterday.
Great find on this video. Thanks for sharing. Clemens and Ratliff do come off as a lot more confident, but some people just don't interview well. Ainge seem more like he was trying too hard to say all the right things. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
It seems like Kellen has a chip on his shoulder and I really believe that he's going to approach this offseason with a steady focus to prove alot of people wrong and in the long run...I think it's Kellen that has that burning desire to battle it out in training camp and thats the reason why I feel he's going to walk away as the Jets starting QB. Kellen has already played for a Jets "Offense" That lacked any type of rushing attack due to a horrid O-Line and I strongly believe that 2007 has made Kellen a stronger player and a better leader because you gotta learn how to lose before you know how to win and believe me...Faneca and Woody along with another 2+ years of experice for Ferguson and Mangold can and WILL help Kellen on Sundays. Also...As a Jets fan, I wanna win and win now...It's no secret that Kellen understands the O alot better than Ratliff and or Ainge and thats the reason why I want Kellen as our starting QB next year, he knows the Offense.
Well all I have to say is these guys can clearly Talk the Talk. Can they walk the walk? We will find out soon enough, to be honest I really really hope we stick with what we have. I remember Jaws gushing, and gushing, and gushing about Kellen on draft day, and in the weeks afterwards. How we got a great value pick where we got kellen. If I remeber correctly We traded back in round two something like 15 spots, then swapped one of the picks we got in a trade down to trade back up to grab Clemens, while still in the end picking up i think an extra 4th. To me that was a great move by Mike Tannenbaum. Everybody was enamored with clemens here right after draft day. I remember the season opener in 07 when chad got hurt, and everybody started chanting for clemens. it was still an incredibly classless act by my fellow jets fans at the stadium that day, but to be honest, I really think if clemens truly is confident, and has gained plenty of wisdom from his predecessors, he can do some damage. Ratliff just screams "I have Potential!!!!!" at the top of his lungs, in one of the most quiet voices to be heard around the league. Every die-hard jets fan knows this kid, and is secretly hoping we have stumbled across our own Tom Brady, I know I am. Am I willing to put my whole faith behind a guy who had one great preseason against third string guys? Not a chance, but if he puts together another one and really shows he is the best guy, than damn-it all he needs to be given every chance to get it done. Ainge, well I hated the pick last year, i hate the pick now. But I saw some good stuff from him in preseason week 4 last year, maybe he has the goods to become something down the line? honestly he didnt inspire me in the video, but as a young kid still trying to learn how to deal with the national media attention that comes from NYC, its more than understandable. These are the guys we need to put faith in for a single year, because as many have said, next years QB crop is much, much better than this years. To be honest, it makes no sense to waste a pick on a guy like sanchez/freeman who are really benefitting from a weak overall class, and wouldnt be first rounders if guys like Bradford and mccoy had come out. Yes i know Mccoy has plenty of mixed opinions on him, but bradford was viewed by many as the top pick if he had come out. I say we wait until next year to draft our QB. first round I want Jarron Gilbert, and in the Second I want us to steal Brian Robiskie. So that next year if we do indeed need a QB, then those recievers that usually take 3 years to blossom, will be in his third year by the time our new franchise QB would be taking the reigns to try and lead this team to the promised land.
Forget God given talent and physical ability - we need a QB that "knows the offense". I'm praying for you...
I agree...Kellen has already played behind a shitty O-Line with no rushing attack what so ever. I would love to see Kellen behind a true offense with an O-Line and running game, something we have now. Draft a WR with the 17th overall pick and let Kellen manage the game and maybe even win us some games while our Defense attacks opposing O's. Say what you want about KC but the fact of the matter is this...The man really seems like he has a chip on his shoulder and a QB with a burning desire to win can be a tough QB for years to come. Sign me up for Kellen...Fuck Cutler. (Or should I say F what we would have to give up inorder to get him)
Like Ratliff for an undrafted FA he sounds like he's got a chip on his shoulder and wants to wow the world
For what it's worth, being able to know, understand and lead the offense is far more important than physical ability.
