I knew that our WR Duo and Cro were gonna be free agents, but did you SEE the friggin list of our upcoming free agents on SNY? How the HELL do you let THAT MANY players become free agents?! It looks like Tanny was taking a 'wait and see' approach, and I have a nagging feeling it is about to bit us in the ass....
Shaun Ellis Steve Weatherford Brodney Pool Tony Richardson Braylon Edwards Wayne Hunter Trevor Pryce David Harris Robert Turner Nick Folk Antonio Cromartie Lance Laury Santonio Holmes Eric Smith Brad Smith James Ihedigbo Drew Coleman Kellen Clemens Marquice Cole Michael Turkovich Marcus Dixon www.nyjetscap.com
If they have any tags. I think the tags will go away as a tradeoff to going to a salary slotted draft.
Shaun Ellis Steve Weatherford Brodney Pool Tony Richardson Braylon Edwards Wayne Hunter Trevor Pryce David Harris Robert Turner Nick Folk Antonio Cromartie Lance Laury Santonio Holmes Eric Smith Brad Smith James Ihedigbo Drew Coleman Kellen Clemens Marquice Cole Michael Turkovich Marcus Dixon Those are the guys we need to find a way to bring back.
Are you serious? He was trying to win the super bowl THIS YEAR. They made the AFC championship last year, it was a reasonable assumption to think that a few players here & there could make a difference and, oh by the way....Was he not supposed to try to win the super bowl? Jesus christ. Yes, he bet a lot on this season, but, newsflash, he's going to bet a lot on next season too. Just the way this team rolls. Also, keep in mind: there is an upcoming labor agreement that could mean (1) a totally different cap (2) no season whatsoever, (3) who the fuck knows. He had to go for it this year. To suggest otherwise is to say that we shouldn't try to win the friggin' thing, and I'm not sure what the point of that is.
NYC< I think you misunderstood my tone. I am not down on him for going for it this year, but for fucks sake, at least sign a FEW of those fuckers long term... labor agreement be damned.
Steve Weatherford Braylon Edwards David Harris Nick Folk Antonio Cromartie Santonio Holmes Brad Smith James Ihedigbo If we can keep these guys and find a nice replacement for Pool and Ellis we'll still be looking at another 10-11 win season. I got faith in Tanny
Harris and Bray are the only MUST keeps. I'd love to keep Holmes. Then Cro and Smith. Digs will come back, I'm sure. But I'd cut and run on Folk and Stevie. Weatherford choked in the playoffs and Folk still isn't more than a mediocre PK.
Next year's team will certainly look different, but most of these guys are scrubs. We may lose a Smith, both of whom are expendable, and we could use an upgrade over Pool. Cro may be gone, but we can find someone to do what he does for less. The only tough loss will be one of the big WR's, though it does hurt to pay a 2nd rounder for a 1 year CB rental.
People are talking like it's May and he hasn't used his pen yet. Um, season has been over for about 90 minutes. I'm sure he'll try to re-sign to long-term deals any key players he can, but, they have to want to stay, and some people will need to take less money to have a shot at the SB. He signed Mangold, Brick, Sanchise & Revis to long term deals. I think he's tried to sign key parts, I don't know what else he is supposed to do. A lot of the other players we got on the cheap (Cromartie, Holmes, etc) because of their FA status. This was a known issue coming into this off-season; can't really understand the surprise here.
The Leon Washington theory strikes again. Brad Smith is good and talented. But he is fragile and will never be a player who can handle more than a handful of touches per game. You don't give big money to guys like this.
Guys I never want to see on this team again: Steve weatherford Drew Coleman Nick folk Kellen clemens Jason Taylor Ladanian tomlinson Pryce Guys I would take back for a reasonable price Sean Ellis Santonio holmes Cro Turner Hunter Poole Guys I want back badly Braylon Ihedibego Eric smith Brad smith David harris
