Troy Taylor was a Johnny Unitas clone, but Bruce Coslet was a moron and never gave Taylor a shot.

Oh, how did I forget earlier? If you consider John Elway to be great, then he's one answer to the thread starter's query. The Jets drafted Elway, but then traded him to the Packers for John Jefferson and Lynn Dickey.

    BLASPHEMY!!!

just curious how good willie joe really was.

had bad knees so he couldn't scramble

    threw tons of pics

he did win us a SB (just one) and even in that game he handed off 90% of the time.

if joe was 'just another QB' today, who would he be most like? Brady? Manning?

First off your a Secret troll and 2nd I agree , stop making threads.

Ken O'Brien , Chad Pennigton. What is the definition of a great quarter back ? A super bowl ring? I beleive its consistancy over a period of time and the two above were just that. What Jets fan doesnt have respect for Joe willie , But he is not the bench mark for a great quarter back.

Kenny O was a dam good QB, he just couldn't find the time to throw because he was constantly picking himself up off the turf at the Meadowlands. Look at some the years he had, he may have won a SB in 86 if not for the injury that gave us Pat Ryan. We beat the Broncos that year and probably would have again.

The guy had 2 perfect passer ratings and is the only Jet QB to finish the season ranked the #1 QB in the NFL and when he retired he was ranked in the top 10 in passer rating for his career. What a shame if he didn't have shit like Jeff Criswell, Dave Cadigan and Mike Haight allowing him to get killed on a weekly basis.
