I've been waiting all night for a thread like this...

    Hindsight is 20/20.

I still don't know how he would do in NY winters, and with the meadowlands winds.

He should be good in Arizona with Boldin. (Fitzgerald, too, but he's out with an injury right now, obviously.)

Boldin's my favorite non-Jet in the league. Not drafting that guy is what bothers me. As for the QB, I don't think he would have cut it in NY/NJ for a number of reasons.

Can we let him play more than a couple games before anointing him as the next Montana?

This was to be expected. I wrote in draft threads in late April and early May that threads like this one would pop up in the autumn or winter.

Let's look at his first few seasons before we decide that 9 teams made a huge blunder. There are many different things that can make a player bust. They don't necessarily have to suck.

these comments are insane people. Let me remind you, that he's just put together "the best 2 opening games" of any QB in history. And it's against the Bears...who were supposed to be the best defense in the NFL

Leinart is going to be a great QB in this league. Whether or not it's a mistake that the Jets passed on his doesn't really matter any more, he's going to be very, very good.

Unless Ferguson makes it to a Pro Bowl before Leinart threads like this will pop up often here.

Exactly, the season that Pennington is having makes this thread irrelevant. Go post about Leinart on a Raiders board.

    EXACTLY!!!!!

and its what, one game. i was very impressed with him not throwing an INT. but he missed about half of his throws.

not exact reason to claim hes lived up to any kind of hype.

...but he still plays for the team with THE MOST inept ownership and management team in the entire league. The Bidwills refuse to put their team, and it's players, in a position to win. I hear Bill Bidwill is a nice old man that likes the idea of being the owner of a football team, but the Cards will never sniff legitimacy as long as he's handing FO jobs to his sperm dingleberries.
