the problem is this team cannot put a complete game together. They love to throw around the term "all three phases offense, defense and special teams" but they haven't done it once this year
The d looked great tonight. We do at least have that going into a tough couple of games. We'll see if they can keep it together.
I'm not all overhyped about the D. Sure they were better today but the weather was awful, hurt the offenses and I hated that coverage on the Marshall TD,,, what the heck was Scott doing on him?
The D didn't get its stuff together. Miami is awful with a very bad offense. This loss is an embarressment.
this. they have no QB. it was terrible weather. they were winning the entire game. had they been losing they would've probably tried to do more things. that's not to say it would've worked but they basically played conservative once they realized they would only lose if the offense made a mistake. lets see the defense step up the next 2 weeks.
I was actually telling my buddy that this might not be the worst thing for us. We came out this season overhyped, and we played underwhelming football all the way to a 9-2 record. We get our asses handed to us at NE, validating the negative press for those shitty wins against Denver, Detroit, and the Browns. Now we lose a game to a pretty average Miami team. The sky has fallen, so what do we do now? Think back to last season. We were up, down, then up again right in time for the playoffs. I think our CS and players feed off that underdog role, and if we can pull out 2-3 the rest of the way, with a win in week 17, I think we could get hot again in the playoffs. If we can get matchup with a warm weather/dome team like Jacksonville, Indy, San Diego I think we would take it to them. I am actually really nervous that Mark is just not a good QB in bad weather, so lets hope we can get some friendly matchups in the playoffs.
Dear lord I hope so...I'm getting so much shit from all the pansie fans in CT (my home state) its making me ill...
If we somehow do manage to accomplish what you are sayin we will eventually run into a very unfriendly matchup in the playoffs called New England!
Miami is a below average offensive team but we didn't let them do anything offensively. I take that as a positive sign for our defense. The Steelers can't spread us out the way NE did so I think our defense will match up well against them. Only thing is our offense may score negative points.
The Steelers are very overrated. Problem is, so are the Jets. But the Jets definitely can beat the Steelers, who should have lost to the Bills.
