Not going to lie I think I may have been this happy when we traded up for Sanchez. Thinking back it was more because of the idea of finally getting a potential franchise QB as supposed to Sanchez himself. I didn’t watch him enough to have an informed opinion.
-The Jets desperately need a QB - passed on Fields -The 49ers Shanahan worked with Fields at an exclusive QB camp - passed on Fields -Denver has shown that draft any QB with some hype - Passed on Fields Detroit & Philly - need QBs but I can see why they want to wait another year before getting one The Bears notoriously traded up to get Mitch passing on both Watson and Mahomes. This was Ryan Pace’s last year there... until they picked a QB. Now he has 2 years to see if they can make it work. The Bears have been given a pass to lose a 1st to trade up from 20 to get Fields. Who exactly were they getting in front of? Maybe the Raiders at 17 and maybe the WFT at 19. The Raiders have a notoriously complicated offense (bad for Fields) but the Raiders are notorious for drafting poorly (good for Fields). The WFT stated they want to build the team 1st then get a QB. Making the playoffs last year, it’s possible they’re ready and Rivera took Cam previously... but he also had 0 interest in Cam in FA so I think it’s possible they draft Fields at 19 but don’t see him trading up. On the bright side, I’m looking forward to watching these excited fans jump up and down when they pick Archie Manning with the 1st overall pick in 2027.
