I read with great amusment all the excuses for Mangini and company last week when they got lambasted by Denver and got the usual vitriol when I argued that this coach and as a result this team is a fraud. Let me see if I can remember some of them-

    1) Denver is a hot team, a division leader! (Got crushed by Oakland at home, barely got by KC today)

    2) Any team can have one, no two, no three (etc) bad games

    3) But we beat Tennessee!

I'm sure I will get a good laugh out of the excuses for this week's showing, so I wanted to have a thread where all the excuses will be in one place, for easy reading. For the record, let me point out the obvious - this coach and his staff were so upset with the team's performance last week, the team came out breathing fire and ready to play this week! NOT! They didn't even show up. Phil Simms put it perfectly - "The 49ers have been one play ahead of the Jets all day." And I can't even tell you the name of the Niner's head coach. In the 5 game crucial drive for the playoffs, this team is 0-2. But I know you all have excuses for Mangini and company, so let's hear them. I need a good laugh.

There will be no excuses out of anyone. The Jets lost 2 bad games in a row and are playing like an absolute embarrassment. They have to make adjustments fast and win the next 3 or they won't make the playoffs, it's as simple as that.

I was being sarcastic. The point was he is a rookie HC and has not exactly set the world on fire.

He may be a rookis HC but he has more guts than our CS. He benched a #1 draft pick, whipped his dick out @ his team, yanked the starting QB, and made a fool out of himself in his first postgame presser. That guy is awesome. Maybe his 3-2 record isn't as good as it sounds, but it's pretty godd based on how thisseason started out for them. If our CS had the marbles "Samurai" Mike had we may be 10-3 right now. Our CS wear lace panties to bed.

Yeah, this is what we need. The loss wasn't bad enough, but now we have Jets fans rubbing it into other Jets fans faces?

I always enjoy witnessing the Darkside V. Sunshine messageboard battles at the end of every season. Countless hours of entertainment!

BTW, thanks for Chad Pennington guys! :)

    I don't hate my team.

If you hate team you root for, find a new one.

Its pathetic that there is this patting on the back bullshit 24/7... thats what the crystal ball forum is for. Its there to say "I told you so"

The time zone change messed us up.

We need to change our watches to west coast time.

Or, maybe not change it to west coast time.

pluto has been in capricorn for the last two games. It will stay there for the next 16 years, so this may not be good..

It is pearl harbor day- we never play well on pearl harbor day.

the fact that some people seem to be more happy when the jets lose is disturbing to me. is it that important that you get to say "i told you so"? i thought we were rooting for the team to win not rooting for our predictions of the teams failure to come true.

i have been more optimistic than i have been pessimistic this year, but thats how i always am with this team until all hope is lost for the season. todays loss definitely hurt a lot. the team just hasn't looked very interested the last two weeks. its disappointing to me as a fan.

that being said the season isn't over and the jets can still win the division and redeem themselves for some of the bad losses they have had this season. i still have hope this team can make the playoffs and maybe by some miracle make a run when they get there. if that happens you will not see me making a thread to rub it in everyone who is writing off the rest of the seasons faces. i will be celebrating the team if that happens, hopefully as hard as some people on this board like to celebrate how right they were with their predictions of the teams downfall.

I dunno bout you guys, but I was bummed all last week with the Denver loss, but took solace in the fact that NE lost. This week will be a ton worse.

Everyone just needs to shut up and just stand behind your F'n team!!! I am a fan as far back as i can remember adn loved the JETS no matter what. Most people on here act like its the end of the world! It's simple we played like crap the last two weeks and we are still in first. The Jets hold their season in their hands. I for one am standing behind them adn will be rooting for them at the stadium next Sunday. Stop you whining and moaning And back you team.

Can we just cluster all these threads together and rename it "My time to gloat about the Jets' failures?" Seriously, go root for the Pats if you going to call out people trying to be optimistic. Im as pissed as anyone, but you never see me ever calling out posters who thought our team was apparently good. WTF man?

Yeah, I think Wahoo was hoping the team would lose just so he could make this thread and seem right. Get a good laugh, Wahoo. Most of the actual fans on this board aren't in much of a laughing mood.
