Nobody knew that Jenkins would blow out his ACL again. But we knew he was injury prone, getting old, and just came back from a long rehab. I was hoping for his heir apparent at some point in the last years draft. That would have come after Wilson. Pouha and Devito are nice players but they don't really scare anybody. Terrence Cody went at 56 to the Ravens and we could have traded up and passed on Vlad. Now we have two questionable players at LG and are thin at NT. There just aren't that many DTs who can play NT in any draft.

It wasn't costly actually. We're fine.

    No it wasn't.

"Bo"ha and DeVito are good, just not great. Losing Ropati was more costly to our depth.

We will be fine. I see Kroul coming in

If we drafted Cody we'd have the best inactive DL of all time!

NT is probably the least of our concerns, right now.

I'm sorry, but last year when Pouha came in, he was great. It seemed like it was almost a seamless transition. I'm hoping for the same this year. I think Pouha gets underappreciated.

We did fine without him last year, and 'statistically' better. (although id rather of had him last year)

this isnt really a freak the fuck out type of injury. just a fuck...damn guy is a beast, and the man, but we did great last year without em.

The biggest affect to our Defense will be the lack of a Pass Rush, because not only did he demand 2 to 3 blockers, he was able to push the pocket and collapse it despite being double and triple teamed.

Pouha was far from great. The Jets had to alter most of their blitz packages to give Puoha help in the middle. It also made both Harris and Scott less effective. Pouha is a decent backup and nothing more.
Many of us were pointing this out all last season and going into the draft. Cody would have been a tremendous pick for the Jets. He's inactive for Balt because of their depth and talent on the inside of their DLine. They have the depth because they know how important the middle is. When was the last time the Jets drafted a quality DT early. Dwayne Robinson was okay, but damaged goods. Who else?

Maybe I wasn't visiting the board often at that time then (and I ignored the NT desires during the draft talk). Regardless, I must be remembering something else, because I remember being relatively impressed with Pouha's play last season. He's not Jenkins, but I still don't think people are giving him enough credit on this board. I didn't see him as a weak link out there at all.
