I was in San Francisco for the game and from what I saw, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs. With a favorable schedule this year and a revamped OL, a HOF QB, we didn't get the job done against the AFC West (Losses: OAK, SD, DEN) who were pathetic this year. The wins against Tennessee and NE were nice trophy wins, but can this team REALLY make a push into the playoffs? I don't think Mangina has the knowledge on how to draw up a gameplan. So, I will NOT be sending in my money for the playoff tickets. Heck, we might not even get in let alone get a home game. I prefer to have the money in my bank than Woody's.
ull regret that if there is a home game, plus doesn't that money go to ur tix next year anyway? Sounds like a no-brainer.
So you just allowed someone else to go. If we get a game, you can enjoy the game on TV. Personally, I'm not passing up the opportunity.
But why let Woody make the interest on my money? Besides you can have a check instead of paying forward to next year. It says so right on the invoice.
I'm sure he is running to the bank with interest on 6 months of ticket money. Do you want to see the game live or not? Like Jetsaddict stated, a no brainer for a Jets fan desperate to see a playoff game.
I would pay for those right now if I had the option. If they dont go to the playoffs then you have them send you back a check.
that gives us NON-season ticket holders a better shot at landing a ticket. because i still believe were winning this division.
I got an email from the New York Jets and their 3rd party service Viagogo. They guarantee me the right to purchase Wildcard Playoff tickets at face value price. Anybody used them in the past? Anyone know if they're legit? And how it works (first come, first served)?
Dude, i can understand what you are feeling, geez that must of sucked spending all the $ to sit that crap, but you judge a team on the season record, not one game. Do you remember the Giants getting their head handed to them againt the Vikes at HOME last year.
Fair enough. You don't have to buy those tickets if you don't want to. But just for the sake of argument--and I am just curious to know--what if the Jets go on some weird, fluky run in the playoffs and make it to the Super Bowl and then somehow win that game? Would you be bothered that you missed that home playoff game or not?
I remember in 02 playoff ticket money was due the week after we lost to Chicago, it looked real bleak after that loss. I debated whether or not I should send in my money, in the end I sent it in and got to witness a home blowout of the Colts. I have been to both home playoff games in the last decade and let me tell you, there is nothing better than being at a Jets home playoff game, nothing.
I to was in SF for the game & I am sure like you left Candlestick in a extremely disappointing state. I was sec 55 where were U? Oh yes the people who buy my season tix also passed on the PO tix based on what they saw on there TV the past 2 weeks
I agree wholeheartedley. This is a bullshit fraud football team, and doesn?t belong or deserve to get to the playoffs. No matter how you cut it or analyze it, the way we lost to Denver and San Fran was inexcusable, PERIOD. Pack it in and reload again in July 09, this 08 team is history....
Yeah, I always thought that was the main reason that people bought season tickets in the first place--for the chance to see their team at home in the playoffs. So I can't figure out why anyone would skip that opportunity just because their team lost a road game...
Its this kind of thinking that makes pro sports the best money making idea in the history of Western Civilization.
I'm not buying the idea that these last 2 losses, crushing as they were, prove that we don't have the talent to compete and make a run. The fact that we beat the Patriots and Tennessee in such a dominating fashion (except for the 3rd quarter of the Pats game) shows that when the players (and coaches?) are fired up and bring a Manly level of intensity to the field, we can beat anybody. Now, I'm not saying we have supreme talent. But talent alone doesn't always win either (see Dallas Cowboys). I think the players (and fans) got a little full of themselves (i.e. complacent, overconfident and flat-out lazy, thinking we can just show up on Sundays and have W's handed to us) reading all the press clippings and sports pundits talking Giants-Jets Super Bowl. The physical ability is there, but our collective psyche needs to change and fast. What are the Jets paying Teddy Atlas for? I think it's time for some major motivational speeches, anything to get this team to play with some fire and urgency (the only thing, arguably, Herm was any good at, giving football sermons). Now, the defensive game plan -- or lack of one -- against both the Broncos and 49ers, now that's another story...
I've been to the playoffs before...this year I just don't feel it. I don't mind passing up the opportunity to see them at home for a playoff game. Someone else can now have the opportunity. I know I can get a refund or even put the money towards next year's tix, but honestly, I don't feel like parting with my money now. Not that I can't afford to, just not interested.
I sent in my money a week or so ago. Asked for the money back if they don't make it (rather than applying to next year's bill). My only problem is I may be out of town for part of that first playoff weekend, so if they get a home game on that Sat, I'm going to have to get creative to get to the stadium in time. But given how infrequently we get home playoff games, I'm going to try as hard as I can to be there if we make it!
