It won't set back the organization at all. Favre will be gone from the Jets in a year or Two and Chad will be the backup on Miami in a year or two if he isn't somewhere else.

Without a Qb after farve we are set back ten years no matter what. The moment Chad tore his arm up and no heir apparent was brought in we were on the clock anyway. Farve is just a shot in the dark at catching lightning in a bottle as opposed to rebuilding.

Yes, one game will set the team back 10 years. That sounds perfectly reasonable. The logistics you laid out to back that statement up are bullet proof and undeniable. Well done.

I've got 2 words for ab3 and whoever else believes after losing favre we will be screwed.

    ravens & falcons

both have a new head coach and new (rookie) qb. they both look like they could be in the playoffs THIS year and contend. its scary to think how they could develop further next year.

Honestly i hope favre retires after this season regardless of what happens because he's just not the same brett he used to be. (although sometimes he can pull off great games)

Being somebody who has been watching Brett since being a young child, I can tell he's just not the same QB anymore. Don't get me wrong he's still in the top half of the league QB wise, but personally I just want to move on with the future. I want to get excited about a new, fresh, fast, YOUNG QB, (a 1st round pick to be specific) and have the hopes of having a young team that will be successful for 10+ years atleast.

Realistically I know this will never happen. We'll rely on KC and he will be very average for us, or we will get a FA who's the most average qb ever.

Now explain exactly how it will set this franchise back 10 years, or this is a moronic thread.

You should have said "could" set this franchise back. Because,it could. Franchise QBs are not easy to find, and the Jets suck at finding one anyway. Pennington is giving no reason for anyone to think he may bring Miami multiple successful seasons as the jets may look retarded for getting Favre, watching him retire, and being stuck with the retard mutant from the Northwest as our QB.

Maybe the Jets will surrender a big lead an Chad will drive the Dolphins down the field on the last drive, winning the game on a fake spike. Oh the agony of being a Jest fan!!

When we get set back 10 years, can we move up in the draft and pick Brady?

It doesn't set the franchise back at all. It hopefully helps us. There will be so much egg on our face that the coaching staff will have to be fired (and maybe the GM) and we can hopefully get a real coaching staff in place.

We wouldn't even have to move up in the draft, we'd just have to use a 4th or 5th rounder.

It won't set the organization back 10 years, it'll just be further proof that the CS limits players and their talents. In order to pull something like this off, we need to stop hiring coaches from within the Division. God this weekend sucked.

No, this thread should of said, the Jets would be the laughing stock of the NFL if Miami goes to the playoffs and we don't.

This team can't handle the pressure of being in first. We have seen it the last 2 weeks, what a joke.

I really do not think it is our QB that is giving us fits; our defence is just playing flat-out horrible right now and it is killing us.

Well said. By the way, if we don't choke it away before week 17 (a big IF) and it comes down to that game against Chad and the phins, there is NO WAY we lose that game for the division. book it.
