I know a lot of you guys want to see Asante Samuel in a Jets' uni next season, but Asoughma is one of the best corners in this league and no one talks about him.

Rob Ryan will probably want to bring some of his Oakland guys to New York with him and he might try to persuade Tannebaum and Mangini to sign Asoughma.

Joining the Jets with Revis and Rhodes, we'd have a dominant secondary if we can find a solid starter to play in the free safety spot.

Signing a top tier corner in the off-season isn't a HUGE need, but if will make our defense so much better.

Not sure I have a link, but John Clayton said with all the cap room next season, Asoughma may be one of many free agents hit with the franchise tag.

Asoughma will be with Oakland next year either via Franchise Tag or they will re-sign him

Damn...there's a possibility that three potential Jets' free agent targets are franchised: Terrell Suggs, Nnamdi Asoughma , and Jordan Gross.

IF they franchise him...he can sign anywhere he wants to, and if he has a good relationship with Rob Ryan, the Jets could land him.

There's too many "ifs" in that sentence though, but it's the off-season for us now.

Yes, but we would owe the Raiders draft picks. Not worth it when we have the #6 pick in the draft and Revis already on the roster.

Well I thought Gross would be one of the best pick ups possible for the Jets. I actually would think if he was the sole pick up in free agency it would be a very successful one for the Jets.

Suggs, I think we can all agree would be an expected FT.

I think paying a ton for another CB would be stupid at this point. Not saying I would not want Samuel or Asoughma but they would more than likely be cost prohibitive.

Who cares about Samuel, Asoughma or any other CB right now. That should not be the first thing the Jets address this offseason.

Since both Mangini and Ryan have ties to the Patriots, maybe Randall Gay pops up on our radar screen if Asoughma gets franchised.

It doesn't matter the order in which we land our free agents - for example, a CB first, an offensive lineman second - it's whether or not we offer the players decent packages and lure them away from other potential bidders.

You read it wrong, but my post was kind of confusing.

I meant: The Raiders might not franchise him, so he'll be able to sign wherever he wants. Al Davis might not want to spend a lot of money on a corner.

It's not the biggest need, but it wouldn't hurt to bring in another key player for the secondary.

If the Jets got Sapp it would be awesome...for the 31 other teams.

Next time, just smile and nod.

i know what your saying, our secondary would be lethal if we got him....i can see it happening if he doesnt get franchised but the safest bet is we sign randell gay to like a four year contract 20 million dollars...and maybe ahmad carrol to punt return and corner depth....i think andrews will be a jet and we will sign roy shuening out of oregon state at LG....and more depth players

what ever happened to Andre Dyson. How did he become irrelevant?

Asoughma is an aggressive cover corner with good "ball skills," someone who would instantly upgrade the Jets Secondary.

He's in Mangini's "dog house" for some reason. Dyson never really panned out/
