On being drafted by his hometown team…
To be honest, I feel like I’m right at home. Personally, (it was) one of the best visits I had. One of the best connections I had (was) with this staff. I couldn’t have dreamt it any better (laughing). I’m feeling pretty surreal right now.

On who called him from the Jets…
It’s funny because I was on the phone with the Vikings. I don’t know if they were trying to hold me on the line, but I got a call, and then somehow the phone hung up. Then, I got another call and I ended up talking to Rex Ryan and it was a whirlwind at that point. I really just couldn’t believe that this was happening.

On if the Vikings were on hold when he took the Jets call…
No. I want to say it was five minutes before. I don’t know if they were trying to hold onto the conversation before I got [the Jets] phone call, but, oh boy (laughing).

On what he told Rex Ryan…
I told him I’m going to give him everything I got. That’s all I know. I was definitely excited to be a Jet. (I) couldn’t ask for anything better.

On what he brings to the Jets…
I just make plays. Whatever they need me to do, `I can do it. I’ve played multiple positions. I’ve played in different techniques. Really, just that versatility, as well as the return game.

On his connection with Jets and similarities with Ryan…
The only thing is just that playing with a purpose, that swagger. I definitely think I’ll fit in well. That confidence about (Coach Ryan) and that sense of really having fun and loving the game of football. It’s really that connection between the two of us that seems to be perfect.

On fitting in with Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie…
It honestly couldn’t be any better. I’m looking to learn as much as I can from them and push them. It’s just going to be a great competition. Those guys have been playing well for years and I look forward to playing well as well, but learning as much as I can from them. I don’t think it could be a better situation.

On how things changed after his Senior Bowl performance…
I think the Senior Bowl clarified some competition questions, regarding competition of who I played against in (our) conference. It wasn’t a surprise to me. I just go out there and try my best to give it all I got regardless of who I’m playing against. I definitely think maybe it opened some people’s eyes and some of the skeptics who didn’t believe I was playing against top flight competition.

On where he is at the moment…
I’m at home in Piscataway, NJ. I’m right around the corner.

On whether he expected he would go higher in the draft and his thoughts on waiting so long to be selected…
I expected (to go) somewhere, so it is definitely a lot of waiting. I did get nervous there towards the end. I’m not going to lie, but just a big sense of relief to know where I was headed. This obviously was the best place for me and I’m definitely excited to make the most of this opportunity.

I like these comments the best:

On fitting in with Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie…
"It honestly couldn’t be any better. I’m looking to learn as much as I can from them and push them. It’s just going to be a great competition. Those guys have been playing well for years and I look forward to playing well as well, but learning as much as I can from them. I don’t think it could be a better situation."

You gotta love this kid's attitude already.

Yeah I'm excited about that too-

Some of those other pricks had HUGE chips on the shoulders.

Any chance Rex tries him at safety in our base package?

This. I love that he said he would push them(Revis/Cro). Even though he's not going to beat them out of a starting role obviously, he isn't just looking to be a sponge. He is looking to compete and challenge himself to be as good or better then them. What a steal I still can't believe it.

  5. He definitely has that Jets swagger.

I heard an interview w/ him on NFL sirius a few days ago and he was very confident and almost came across as arrogant. I don't think it'll be long until he's maing plays and personifying the jets swagger just like Bart Scott, and Darrelle revis

Everything I have been reading about Wilson has been great. The only place I have seen anything negative was by Gary Myers that jerk off. As if he as a character issue.

I'm getting flashes of Sanchez's response to going to New York. It's amazing that Wilson wants to be here.

I really think that was just a shitty attempt at saying the defense is going to have attitude or some bullshit like that. Wilson has no negative history of which I am aware. Myers is just a POS sports writer.

Learning from Revis and Cromartie will only make this guy even better. With his attitude he will be a perfect fit (no whinning that he isn't starting). I can't wait to see third down and long for opposing teams this season.

Hopefully Revis teaches him to cover a wideout and Cro teaches him why he should cover his dick.

BPA at devensive back. I know Ryan is happy as hell. Good fit for our D and a great returnman. It gives Cro who has issues a threat over his shoulder much like the Braylon/Holmes situation. We have some serious depth at Wideout and in the secondary after this pick.

Awesome pick...can't believe he fell to us... the kid will automaticallly make an impact on Special Teams and Third Downs... and to be able to learn from the two fucking studs we already have at CB should make him be great in a year or two... brady and Payton must have both been pissed...I can't wait for rex to send him on blitzes..also if he covers revis's guy then he can send revis on blitzes as well which he is sick at and hasn't done as much as possbile as of yet.. Rex knows this what he needs for his defense to operate the way it should and its a great pick...

Where we will go next is the real question...DE???OL??? Kindle??? who knows now..

I was happy with the pick yesterday but after reading this I don't think we could have picked a better guy who was available. He definitely has the NYJ attitude. Love it

Heard the tail end of him on NFL Radio about a half hour. Sounds ecstatic to be picked by us.

Yeah when I read this article, the guy gave no explanation as to what Wilson's character issues are. Pretty stupid article...

It's the NY Daily News, what do you expect? The sad thing is that when they lost Cimini they lost one of their better football writers.

The best part about that Myers article is part of the anonymous GM quote that he fails to support with worthless article with:

So much for his blubber-lipped alarmist nonsense.

Some people just really need to get hit in the base of the spine with a ball-peen hammer.
