There can be one player from the draft, but for the most part just name the players already on the team that you think we can build around. (This was a topic I saw at JI and I liked it) Here are my five players I would expect us to build around... -Vilma -Justin Miller -Laveranues Coles -4th pick overall (Hopefully Jay Cutler) -Shaun Ellis (I think he is going to have a breakout year...he struggled because of softie Herm not making him lift and exercise. We have three strength and conditioning coaches...he will be back) Who are your five players?
Vilma - next ray lawis of course. Justin miller - he is our future #1 cb with mangini he is gonna shine. 4th pick obviously Kerry rhodes - i personally think he is a player. Shaun ellis -with abe gone he is gonna hve to ecome dominent.
I agree Justin Miller and Kerry Rhodes could become real nice players under Mangini...I look foward to seeing them both starting next year. You guys remember some of the hits Justin Miller was layin out last year? I forgot about them, but just remembered...he had some bone crushing hits for a rook...can't wait to see them play.
i think people are neglecting Drob, he was really good when he had a decent player next to him i think mangini will make him a star
I'll admit that contracts do play a role in these selections, but these are probably the 5 IMO right now: Pick #4 Vilma Ellis Robertson Justin Miller Regardless of how you feel about them, the money commited to Ellis/Robertson ensure that this is the case.
VILMA NUGENT DROB RHODES our first rd draft pick! how mant guys think we are close to turning it around at this time?
I don't see why not. Everything that could have possibly gone wrong for the Jets last year did, and they still managed to win 4 games. Further, going into this season, our only position downgrades, though big downgrades, are Ty Law and John Abraham, from the roster that left the field on the final game of the season. With Miller and Thomas stepping in though, I'm confident that Mangini will be able to work to their strengths. Also, with the slew of draft picks the Jets are getting, and the ability to maybe pick up one or two guys in FA, who knows, the sky is the limit. Thank god for parity.

1) Vilma 2) Ellis (but keep in mind, the guy is already in his late 20's and won't be in this form forever). 3) Rhodes 4) Miller (I predict great growth for this guy, and feel like he got lost in the shuffle under Herm). 5) Graham- when this team is playing up to snuf in a season or 2, a great punt can truly make the difference in the game.
