Mike Vaccaro calls out the negativity inbreed in many Jet fans. I KNOW I've been a Jet fan far longer than most on this board. I understand the frustration we all share. However, we all have a choice, we can give in and become the bitter, frustrated fan Vaccaro cites (see part of his article below) or you can remain positive and hopeful. This does not mean you can't criticize the organization and/or players, but it does mean you should keep it in context and you should enjoy a signature victory that we just experienced! You want to know what Thursday night was? It was one of the signature wins in franchise history, well within the top 10, likely inside the top five. (And yes: as Jeff Foxworthy might say, you might be a Jets fan if your immediate reaction is to groan how that shows just how many football felonies you have had to endure through the years.) Yet the past few days, on talk radio, in my e-mail inbox, in conversations with green-bleeders, 80 percent of the sentiment is this: It should have been better. The score. The outcome. The performance. The way it all . . . well . . . feels. And that is why this intervention is necessary. Consider this an act of friendship, please.
I'm not pointing the finger at anyone. I'm talking about the general tone of some of the conversations and OVERLY negative tone. I'll admit I've been guilty of that at times but I can generally overcome it and keep my perspective somewhat fair and balanced. It also helps one live a long and healthy life!
There was already a thread on this or this could have gone on one of the other 7 darksider threads you started. You keep taking offense at people that are complaining about your multiple threads on the same subject. Maybe if many people are complaining about it you should take a hint. Darksiders have just as much right to post on the board as the sunshiners but when one poster tries to take over the entire board with multiple threads on the same exact subject it gets tiring fast.
First of all I did NOT start all the darksider threads. Check your facts before saying something! Secondly like Vaccaro I'm doing a public service and trying to get Jet fans to unite in a more positive manner. I NEVER said that all negative comments are invalid. However, when some idiotic comments are made and then proven wrong, I do have the right to call them out.
Yes let's ban a positive Jets fan so the darksiders can maintain their strangle hold over the message board. Nice! Whether you like it or not I'm a Jets fan and always will be.
Look at the front page. Turkjetfan and jilozzo both started darksider threads. I know you don't let the facts interfere with your biased viewpoints.

Amazing how thin skinned some people on this board are. It's fine for them to make OVERLY negative comments about the Jets which are proven inaccurate. But it's not ok for someone to point out the fact that they were wrong and the JETS ARE CONTENDERS!

You are freaking amazing! When someone reacts this way it's usually because deep down they know what the other person is saying is correct!
When I react this way, it's because I know deep down inside the other person is a dick. Seriously, why don't you just keep updating your original darksider thread with all this nonsense instead of cluttering the Jets forum? So whoever is interested in your opinions which you are free to have, then can refer to that thread and join you in discussion. Seriously, it's not a hard concept to understand.
