Miami is probably getting Matt Flynn too I guess...

Good hire. Let's see how many other GB coaches will follow him now. If they can lure Tom Clements as the OC it would be another good move.

Going to be interesting to see if Flynn comes and what type of success he will have ss a starter.

Happy for philbin. After what just happened it's a good time to make a move.

It's good...he is a first time coach when they would have loved to get Cowher, Gruden or Fisher

    Great hire.

Many of us Dolfans were bashing the McCoy news that he was hired this morning...He is just a run run pass conservative fool like Morono.

It looks like Bowles will remain as DC.

I hope he brings Clement as OC and we take Flynn as a FA and go heavy Offense in the draft (WR 1st, TE 2nd, OL 3rd)

You don't know that McCoy was just a run first guy. He had no choice because of the QB he was saddled with. To me it shows someone who adapts to what he has to work with.

Good move for them. We'll get to see what Matt Flynn is all about.

Seems like a real smart move. Hopefully he is a failure.

I think this is a great move for them, with Bush and Marshall they have some pieces on the O. This guy will get the best out of them, is he going to bring Flynn with him?

Probably... Miami has all the cap space in the world and Flynn looks good in Philbin's system.

The question is, do they fire Brian Daboll and do they release Matt Moore. Both would be interesting hires/signings for the Jets.

i was really hoping it was regis philbin!

in all seriousness though, going through a tragedy like he has just gone through is something that most people will not fully recover from for a year or two.. i hope the change of scenery will help him in his dire time. i feel bad for him that he may not be quite himself in time to save his job.

and i feel bad that i now must hate him, fuck you philbin i hope you suck a fat one and end up like dave wannstedt!

I just hope they sign Flynn to a monster contract.

Top free agent qb on the market (assuming something nutty doesnt happen with Brees/Saints), hopefully were talking big big cash.

Better yet the Packers might tag/trade him since it sounds like Finley wants a long term deal, how about the Fins giving up some more draft picks for em AND giving a monster contract.

    Now were talking

This is a great hire for them, they already have the defense now they have the brain on the offense, they have some talent on offense, its going to be something like the niners, the one piece they were missing has been put in place.

Miami will be competitive in 2012 for sure now. Great D, now assuming they get Flynn or a good QB, they can win immediately.

Unfortunately, I think this was a good move for the fins, but Nolan isn't there anymore. He was a huge factor in there defense being good.

I'm happy for Philbin and hopefully this will help him move forward with his life.
but with that said, I think it's ridiculous to call this a good hire for the Dolphins.
The man has ZERO track record, so how can anybody possibly judge this as a positive at this point? he may turn out to be good, but the fact is, theres no way to tell if he'll be successful, and the chances are much greater that he will be a bust.

in 2009, 11 new head coaches were hired. All of them were first time coaches except for Mangini in Cleveland. Three years later, want to guess how many of those 11 coaches still have a job? ... TWO -- Rex Ryan and Jim Shwartz.

    Philbin has everything to prove.
I would have been much more worried if they had been able to hire the likes of Cowher, Gruden or Billick.
