Freedom is not free. It comes with sacrifice for a cause bigger than ourselves. We may bicker, insult and fight amongst ourselves but let an outsider come in and they'll be in for a fight. We Americans are one 300m strong dysfunctional family. That is the very definition of Democracy IMO. Being a Vet, I will always honor those that gave their lives so that I can kick back, indulge whatever I can afford to, and do it with the security that no one can come and take it away. It wouldn't hurt this younger generation to serve however I'm sure there are those who think otherwise. Again, Democracy at work! For ONE DAY, lets put our differences aside and honor those that gave their lives to protect us over the generations. If you are a Vet? I salute you. If you've had family members who gave their lives in service? Only the highest amount of respect I give to you! For all my Veteran brothers on this site, I ask you now to stand up and sound off!! Me: US ARMY Signal Corp. 87-91
Grandpa was a captain in WWII (supposedly of one of the few integrated units ) His brother-in-law (Grandma's younger brother) was among the Normandy beach invasion Dad was a huey crew chief / door gunner in Vietnam Thankfully all made it home in one piece.... or I wouldnt be here to charm you with my wonderful personality and thank you to everyone else that made a sacrifice
Thank you all for your service. Let’s not forget the true meaning of Memorial Day. God bless those that sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
Thank you to all who served. @Ralebird - You are a previous member of US Armed forces. Sometimes you receive too much heat but today I wanted to thank you openly! Enjoy your special day sir!
Usually I settle for people thanking me for my service, but this year will allow you all to kiss my ass for my service. Form a line to the right if needed.
