Here's who the big haired one has us taking on Sat. and Sun. through 4 rounds on espn.com.... Rd 1. Vernon Gholston, DE Rd. 2. Limas Sweed, WR Rd. 4. Chevis Jackson, CB Rd. 4. Philip Wheeler, LB Thoughts?
I actually really like that group. I remember watching Wheeler play in GA Tech and he was all over the place, though I would project him as a FS rather than a LB.
The closer we get to the draft the more I really hope Gholston is either gone by our turn or we trade out of the spot. Either way I hope we end up with someone other then Gholston in the 1st. I would love to get Sweed in the 2nd though.
Excellent, if this happens, ill take my bare ass steaking in the cold weathered streets of Lake Tahoe out of pure joy!
That would be an excellent draft. Gholston at worst will be an excellent pass rusher. Which the Jets desperately need. Sweed would be a #3 right from jump, and IMO it is possible Jackson could win the #2 CB spot.
I like everything but Wheeler, he is strictly 4-3 material and in that spot I would put Goff or hopefully, Bell
Keep your shirts on, fellas. The Sweed pick in the 2nd round is wishful thinking, IMO. If he's around, that would be great - I would pick him second regardless of who we picked in Round 1. I just don't see it happening. It would not surprise me if Sweed is the 2nd or 3rd WR picked. If he does fall, I would not be shocked to see the Jets package an extra 4th round pick to climb back into the late 1st round.
Don't see Sweed falling that far but I really want a WR in round 2. We haven't used a high pick on a WR since Moss and it's starting to show in our depth. Failing that, CB or ILB would be great as well.
Are you nuts? Anyway I don't know if Wheeler will be there, and he isn't a great fit for the 3-4 anyway. I love the first 2 picks there.
That would be a miraculous draft IMO. It would fill up definite holes in our depth chart, however, Wheeler is going to have to make a transition as he is to small to be an OLB in the 3-4.
That is the draft I've been dreaming of... first two picks at least I am not a college football/draft player expert so I don't really know who would be great picks after those rounds.
Maybe in college I would have agreed with you, but he has beefed up and is a legit ILB. Runs like his pants are on fire and can get to the QB.
That's a very good draft right there. I may prefer DMac but either way it's a huge upgrade for this team.
