It's one pre season game, patience people. If I recall correctly, we did not score a TD; with the starters, in all of last years pre season.

I heard from a source familiar with Manish's thinking that he loves big black cocks.

He's absolutely right about signing Hasselbeck. He would've been a perfect stopgap to Geno and taught the rookie a ton. Also would've come cheap.

He is not even right about that. I have been a Hasselbeck fan, but he is done now. Not who he used to be. Sanchez is better at the moment.

yeah lets blame the guy who wasnt allowed to fire rex, cleaned house of all our other coaches, got rid of all our terrible contracts, had the balls to move revis, and finally has us moving in a direction where we can build this team

we lost a preseason game. WTF cares. we could go 3-13 and it woudlnt matter its about the next couple years, not this one

Sanchez is better than almost no starting QB in the NFL at the moment (only Blaine Gabbert and a few others are worse at this point). Even old and banged up, Hasselbeck would've a better option and a better leader IMO.

How dare Rex and Idzik not be SEETHING angry at a preseason loss. Cutler threw an INT in his first preseason pass...is Trestman not angry? Packers scored zero points against the Cards...should they not be angry?

Our offense looked a lot better than ALL of last preseason. We scored more points than we did in our first two preseason games. Our defense held starting Detroit offense to a field goal...

I don't see why Manish is not treated like Francesa...he really should be

After one preseason game, this comes out? Mehta's slacking. This is a perfect article to save in your back pocket if the Jets start out 0-4 or 1-5 or something like this or even as a an intro to an end of year article criticizing Idzik. After one preseason game that doesn't count, he jumped the gun putting this article out.

I actually am happy after the first preseason with our WR situation. I think Braylon, Gates, Hill, and Kerley are not that bad. I think Hill and Kerley are above average WRs at the 2, neither a 1 currently. I also think Gates has improved his route running a LOT from last year when it felt like he was just pure speed.

The QB situation, he says we should get a veteran QB then saying we should trade for Flynn just to get away from Sanchez? That's how you get problems, trying to fill positions by force instead of actually trying to get a player that you believe can help. I'm sure Idzik has his opinion of Flynn after a season of watching him practice.

Also, Garrard's contract was 1 year, 1.1 million. Hasselback got 2 years for 7.25 million. As Mehta pointed out, last regime made some bad,big contracts. Then there's the salary cap and the Jets probably didn't want to try and outbid IND to get someone who might or might not be there QB.

why would hasselbeck want to come here is the better question. obviously he is a better player and mentor then mark. that isnt debateable.

but who wants to end their career on a 5 win team in a circus atmosphere?

Gates has been good since he stepped on the field. dude is always in the right spots and gets open. just doesnt have a guy to get him the ball. IMO, he is our best WR, or will be by years end.

Edwards is serviceable at this point, not a starter

That's hard to argue. Maybe because he's a guy from the Northeast and he'd be closer to his family, but obviously I was just making the point about how futile Sanchez is.

Almost all of those QBs that he mentioned either aren't very good or unproven, lousy article due to lousy choices available, and that is even considering how bad Sanchez can be

He always had speed and hands, but he has definitely improved his route running. There were a lot reports during camp repeating this too. He has improved, let's hope he can keep it up.

Yeah, that's I why I didn't mention Braylon's skills, he's the weakest of the group right now. Braylon to come in on a few downs here and there can be a viable target, but the 3 of Kerley, Hill, Gates should see more time than Braylon as of right now.
