This fool will find out soon enough, when we does NOTHING with Revis locked up on him Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum should bring Brandon Marshall to the negotiating table. The outspoken Dolphins receiver was asked who is the best cornerback in football and Marshall went with a former teammate, Broncos CB Champ Bailey. Marshall chose Bailey over Jets CB Darrelle Revis, who is currently looking for a new deal to become the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL. Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha currently makes the most at $15.1 per season. But Marshall sided with Bailey, who is set to make $9.5 million this season (plus $3.5 million in bonuses). “As of right now, I still have to say Champ Bailey. I went against Champ every day for four years, and he’s amazing,” Marshall told NFL.com. “It’s tough to be able to get a lot of interceptions when people don’t throw your way. Champ just turned 32, but he still has it.” Marshall will visit Revis Island twice this season now that Marshall was dealt from Denver to Miami. The only time Marshall and Revis squared off was in 2008 in a Broncos’ 34-17 romp in the Meadowlands. Marshall had five catches for 55 yards in that game and did not score a touchdown. The two meet for the first time as AFC East rivals in Week 3 when the Jets and Dolphins play in Miami.
lol your overreacting big time. I saw the interview yesterday. his first response when asked was "He will be. " he just gave Bailey props because he faced him in practice his whole career up to this point. its not like he slammed him. and I couldnt agree more. the more I hear Revis pound his chest for Aso money the more I realize hes had 1, count em, 1 All Pro seasons. Revis is the 1 A) 1 B) category but for him to be without a doubt hands down he has to have a year comparative to last.
At no point in that article does Marshall say "Revis is not the best CB". He's just backing a former teammate. What a shit article.
Marshall wasn't dissing Revis so who cares. Since we're on the Revis topic, if anyone is to blame for Revis wanting to be the highest paid in the league we should be looking at the organization, namely Rex first. This is one time where Rex's big mouth got him, and the organization, in trouble. They created this monster and now they're going to have to pay for it.
yeah the first thing out of his mouth after the question was "he will be" all he was doing was showing respect to a former teammate.
Agreed nothing wrong in backing up an ex-teammate... especially if it's Champ Bailey who still is at age 32 a top 5 CB in this league.
OMG an NFL player has an opinion. Shock and awe. Worlds colliding. Cats in dogs living together. Nooooooo.
He will find out Week 3. Lol he is going to eat so much crow cant wait. edit: actually yeah I just saw the interview. He said Revis 'will be the best cb' this is being taken way out of context. Also even if Marshall doesnt think Revis is not the best CB in the game that is not a insult. It's just his opinion, and he is probably great friends with Champ B.
Also great bargaining chip for Tanny, now he has some negative comments to counter the positive. He should just be paid a million per interception, and $250,000 for a PD/
A not really much to it... of course he's gonna go with the guy who used to bend him over and fuck him in the ass on a daily basis. We know there's not anybody even remotely close to the discussion on Miami he could have named.
That should some it up- In his second year, under Mangina he basically shut down Marshall Marshall had 104 catches for 1265 yards that year too.
It's okay. He's backing up a former teammate he was probably friends with. He'll find out more this season.
Rex's mouth does not have anything to with Revis wanting a big contract. I don't think it took Rex to convince Revis he was the best corner in the NFL. Its been said almost everywhere. I've also concluded Rex Ryan's "big mouth" does much more good than bad so you should do the same.
