These two guys might be the most impressive guys in the top of the draft outside Bush both are instant impact guys with less of a bust risk than the 3 QBs and IMO a better choice than D'Brick @ #4 I know a TE @ #4 is crazy but this guy can really line up as a TE, Slot, or wideout just think about the mismatches line up with 2 tightend set it could really expand our offense. only other guy worth talhing about early would be AJ Hawk but with Carpenter available later not an urgent need @ #4 What do you think?
We have been screwed taking TE's first round in the past and I would not like to see that happen again. TE is not are biggest need and D'Brick or Mario will fill a larger hole while being bigger impact players.
he is not just a fast TE. hes a versatile player that u can line up at WR,TE,FB and RB. IF bush or williams dont fall to us, he is defintely worth the 4th pik in the draft over the likes of leinart cutler and Dbrick considering we need offensive playmakers and currentl have two potentiall starting qbs on our roster and their is much depth at O-Line int this draft so the need for DBrick isnt that great.
I would be happy with Davis at #4. I've seen enough of the TE's we have drafted in the past to know this guy will be much better than them. There's a reason no analyst is saying he's a reach at #6
Why do we need a TE???? There are many other more pressing needs to address, like the offensive line. Do you want all our QB's to be injured again? Let's give Pennington/Ramsey some protection and see what they can do.
I wouldn't want to pick Vernon Davis at 4 because we don't have as much of a need at that position. I would like top pick Mario or Hawk. They fill much greater needs.
Mario, Brick, Hawk and Vernon are all "impact" players with lower bust potential than the QBs, but there are two things to consider. One: if you have a shot at a franchise Qb, a potential franchise QB, you have to take it. Two: a TE at 4?!?! No way.
what makes you think they can't do both? You don't need to spend the #4 pick to solidify the O-line. 5 first day picks
Ya I would also upgrade the O-Line before I drafted vernon. It pisses me off, b/c we shouldn't be in this position with the o-line. Stupid Bradway never should have let Kareem Mckenzie leave. He was a young, good tackle. I hope Tannanbaum (however you spell it) does a better job than that asshole.
AHHHHHHHHHH.......I'm sick of people saying our QBs will get hurt or not be able to get the ball off if we dont have DBrick on our line!!!!!!!!! He is not the only OL that can protect our QB in this draft......this draft is deep with OL and we do not need to draft one at #4.....no matter how good people think he is. Come up with a new, legitimate argument
How did our other patchwork lines work in the past. With D'Brick at 4 he will make us have a good line instead of an average one. It is the average ones that allow good De's to run by and get free hits at our QB. I have given you two arguements for why I don't like Davis at 4... so why don't you give me another arguement.
Drafting another top OL prospect at #29 or #35 does not make it "patchwork"....nor does DBrick make it "solid" I do like Davis.....but i am not saying we definately need him or should take him I'm saying that we do not NEED DBrick......we NEED impact playmakers Davis, Hawk, Mario are impact playmakers
I don't think Ferguson would be a bad pick at all, but I think it's crazy to dismiss V.Davis as a terrible pick there. They both are elite prospects that fill a big need. In V.Davis's case a play maker in the passing game, that can cause match up nightmares
I agree completely, we do need an impact player badly to get this team on track. There is so much depth at tackle in this draft that I would be mad if they took Dbrick. *Remember Jason Fabini was a 4th rounder and Kareem Mckenzie a 3rd Rounder* -The top tackle in the draft isn't necesarily the best (Robert Gallery, Mike Williams, etc.)
Are you saying that Orlando Pace hasn't been an impact player. Offensive linemen are the people that protect your QB and open up holes for the RB. Without a good offensive line your playmakers are nothing. So, say we draft Davis at #4. Pick a few OL in the draft, but none of them are really anything special. Our season starts and Pennington/Ramsey are having trouble getting the ball off and Curtis Martin is having another year like last year, battling to gain just a few yards. Oh, but wait, we have Vernon Davis streaking down the field. Ahh, but wait, our QB is lying on the ground. So, what do we do to compensate for this lack time to pass. We bring our TE in to block. Oh man, now isn't this funny. Our number 4 TE is blocking. Ahh, if we had just gotten D'Brick.
with 5 1st day picks you could get a good mix of impact players and consistant solid players great impact players are in the top of the draft and IMO we can still pick up solid O-Line and D-Line and LB in the later part of day one along with day two
Ya Orlando Pace was really the only top tackle that has been good. Can you name any others? I can name several that have not lived up to there expectations.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA this is HILARIOUS..........you are flat out saying that DBrick is the only OL that can protect the QB this is just funny can u see into the future???? you know that he will be amazing???? and all the other OL will be busts?????
