I love small school prospects (my wife's little brother plays DII and no its not Schiechl) and have been watching some division II player highlights and game clips while away on business and OLB/DE Marc Schiechl really jumped out at me. He really reminds me of Teddy Bruschi (who was also a division II DE) but Schiechl is bigger and much stronger/faster/athletic. There are some clips on Youtube if you are interested. Schiechl is 6’2” 252 and in 4 years at as a division II DE he recorded 70.5 tackles for a loss and 46 sacks (DII record). This year he lead DII in tackles for a loss with 19.0, had 66 total tackles (34 solo), five quarterback hurries, two blocked kicks, 6 forced fumbles, 3 passes defensed, and 12 sacks. Here are Schiechl's Colorado School of Mines pro day numbers: 40 Yrd Dash: 4.65 20 Yrd Dash: 2.68 10 Yrd Dash: 1.66 225 Lb. Bench Reps: 38 Vertical Jump: 35 Broad Jump: 10'05" 20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.50 3-Cone Drill: 7.18 Not only are Schiechl's stats impressive, but so are his measurables. I certainly think he is worth a 7th round flyer and would personally even consider him in the 6th round. I know it is DII, but he looks like a man among boys when I have seen him play (both live and in videos).
