According to ESPN First Take this morning, a report that Manny Ramirez will be suspended 50 games for Performance Enhancing Drugs. Just saw it come across as breaking news, felt you guys might like to know.... From the LA Times apparently. They are talking about it on First Take (ESPN 2) as we speak

thank god we didnt sign him. good job Omar i knew you would do the right thing. should i trade andre ethier now in my fantasy team?
MLB wanted them to break the record of most consecutive home wins...Everyone in love with the Dodgers and Lakers... Then BOOM...Ala Raffy getting 3000 hits then BOOM.
 -------------- So are Boston fans going to hang on to this being a "new" thing, since he didn't get busted while with the Sox? Anyway, as more time goes on, it's just going to prove what Yankees fans have been saying since the Mitchell Report broke: every team has had dirty players.
Release the other 100 names that tested with ARod... This sport is fucking dead to me if Pujols tests positive, or tested positive... Just bring this shit down.
The Yankees fans that I know have been saying that mitchell report was BS because he is a partner of the the redsox. You are the first one I heard say that every team had cheaters. I'm with Dierking - I think he just wanted a few months off!
I'd be shocked if Pujols hasn't juiced. I disagree with bringing out all the names. It was a confidential test. That ARod was outed was unfortunate, given that it was agreed upon contingent on anonimity. And I'd say that even if Ortiz, Manny, Varitek, Pedro and anyone else on the Sox were outed. Then you unfortunately know a lot of douchebag Yankees fans, and you haven't read any of the steroid-related threads on this board. Anyone who believes their favorite team is clean is insane. There are 100+ names on a list somewhere. The chances that anyone's team doesn't have at least one name on it is slim-to-none. I've already commented a few times on how he is clearly smaller than he used to be. Did he go on the Alio Kick Ass weight loss plan? Something tells me the answer is no.
Are Yankee fans going to continue to claim Arod only did them during the three years he was with the Rangers?:up:
Good point. I think we all know the truth there. This sport is so dirty it's ridiculous. I don't feel the same anger anymore when I hear these stories though. It's more like "Yup, figures. I knew he was dirty" with every story. It's sad.
It appears to be a totally legit medical screw-up...The one reason I'm inclined to believe that is that I don't see how Manny could go his whole career, pre and post-testing, always avoiding suspicion and then gets slapped with a positive test in '09. It doesn't make sense. JC Romero got screwed too, and maybe the media is just protecting him, but I think he's actually innocent. Which feels weird to say. Like others have already said, everybody's dirty. But I don't think this test is enough to kill Manny, I really don't.
