Yeah, let's hope the jets beat the Browns, but since we're about at the midpoint I wanted to briefly post something. I really like the fact that Mangini doesn't have "Herman Edwards syndrome" of playing guys because of where they were drafted, what they USED to do for us, or what their contract status is. It took Eric all of a game and a half to see that Blaylock stunk. Jolley and Strait, very high recent "picks" of Herm and Co. are already gone, and major underachiever Adrian Jones continues to sit. I think even greybeard Wayne Chrebet (a great jet who stayed three years too long) would be sitting under Mangini, with the way the current WRs have played. Can you imagine Edwards even thinking of not playing the guys he and Bradway brought in, or of sitting down an unproductive veteran like Chrebet? We're not in the playoffs yet, but they are in the future with a coach who plays the best guys on the roster, and gets rid of the errors of the prior administration.

    Good point. Edwards sucks.
But he did learn one thing from coaching the Jets. He has no clue what to do on offense. He has given Solari absolute control of the offensive playcalling.

If you watched the game last week against the chargers, the game was tied with about 40 seconds to go. The Cheifs had the ball on the 20.

Jets Herm calls a draw play or a short screen pass and goes into ot.

Last week, Huard comes out firing hittin TG for 25 yards pass and then throws again for a huge gain. They end up kicking the fg and winning in regulation.

After watching that I knew Edwards has finally realized he has no clue about offense.

    Good for him.

The only point against this was with Schlegel who is still on the team when other linebackers with proven game exp. have been cut.

Why are you railing Wayne? All the man did was give his heart and soul for this franchise. He should have retired years before last year before the last one because of his injuries. Its only fitting that his last reception was a first down. If Wayne was healthy you better believe that he would have a spot on this team.

I like the point, jetman, but I think you have to keep Schlegel regardless. He's still on the roster, after being a third round pick, the difference is that Herm and co. would be forcing him into special teams, when he hasn't even dressed for Mangini.

What about Dewayne Robertson. It seems that everybody can run against us up the middle at will and when they replace him the run defense tightens up. But they keep him in here practically the whole game.

Because someone as fat as Rashad Moore would die if he played a whole game.

Thats true but I think looking at it right now McClover and Meyers would have brought more to the team than Schlegel does.

I agree! DUH HERM sucks and I wonder where all his supporters have gone to hide. So many thought he was the grteatest thing since sliced bread and would argue that it is not necessary for a HC to know what his players are doing etc. How ridiculous! The JETS are much better off with a real HC and not a HC(head case).

I wouldn't call 3rd rounders very high picks.

That might be a good point, except it's completely wrong.

How do you explain Coleman and Rhodes both starting there first year?
