The J-E-T-S were out coached much of the time. Even the players has said the schemed they ran didn't worked. Kerry Rhodes said there were little in game adjustments. When there were, it didn't work most of the time. To me that's coaching. Plus, In his post game, what did he always say. "We didn't execute what we worked on during the week." I'm no expert, but to me he blamed the players for losses. If he had gotten rid of Sutton last season maybe this wouldn't have happen. Don Sutton was not a good D-Cord. Schott is hit or miss a lot. 9-7 with a real easy schedule after the spending? Is that good or bad?
How about Curtis Martin? Talk about work ethic, intelligence, motivator. He is my list. Or, more realistically (sort of): Maybe Favre convinces Holmgren to coach the Jets.
that is one of the most important things with mangini AT HALFTIME HE NEVER MADE ANY ADJUSTMENTS what a tard
Mangini had to go. If he didn't get fired for what happened over the past 5 weeks then no HC can ever get fired. He clearly over thought everything and made no adjustments. He never plays to the opponents weaknesses but instead he tries to surprise and out think. If they face a week bad run defense, their plays would not be mostly runs. Instead they will try to catch them off guard and pass most of the time. You can blame Favre too because of his decisions but I blame Mangini and the CS. They never adjusted with Favre and he was set up to fail. Favre will be Favre but they did nothing to prevent some INT. Why do they always have to go to a empty backfield, spread on third and short? Why does he pass 40 times per game when we have the leading rusher and the explosive Leon? Why not do some more play actions and screens?
I think Holmgren is done with coaching for a while. I'm pulling for Cowher, as many of the people on this board have been. Whoever the next coach is, hopefully he puts together a great staff. The problem I have with everyone arguing that Favre should come back because he only had one season with the playbook is that a new coaching staff will likely bring in an entirely new offensive approach. We're going to see the same learning curve all over again. I can only hope that the calls today for him to return are little more than posturing to avoid looking like we're trying to push him out the door.
