From PFT: MANGINI GETS THE JOB Posted by Mike Florio on January 7, 2009, 5:27 p.m. Michael Holley of WEEI radio in Boston reported earlier today that Eric Mangini would be the coach of the Browns before the end of the week. As it turns out, Mangini is the coach before the end of the day. Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Mangini has been hired by the Browns to replace Romeo Crennel. More to come. Wow, that was quick. Will be interesting to see if Mangini turns into Belichick in his second opportunity.
Mangini is going to be a good head coach but he should have gone to be a coordinator for a few years.
So much for all of the people who said that Mangini would never get another NFL job because of spygate.
Nothing surprising. Best of luck to him over there. I hope to see him grow as a coach over there. He was treated pretty shittily by this organization, but I'm pretty sure we can say that about most people who've worked for the Jets over the years.
Browns did win 10 games 2 seasons ago, I think if they get some more parts hes gonna do well in his first season
He got the job. Good for him. Time to bring Cleveland to the Super Bowl, while the Jets go 4-12. Probably a Dolphins-Browns AFC Championship game. Chad almost gets Miami over the hump, Mangini says no, but thanks Chad for getting him out of NY. Chad then says thanks to Mangini for the same exact thing.
This is great...Mangini gets hired, the BC coach gets fired and Woody is probably about to leave the country again. And we wonder why nobody wants this job?....lol....the only think better will be if the JEts announce they want Schittenheimer and then he leaves to join Mangini in Cleveland.
The difference is Bellicheck wasn't a head coach again for five seasons. Good for him though. I wish him luck.. What're the odds he takes Sutton with him?
