Listening to Adam Shefter he named all the possible candidates that the Browns are bringing in for interview & he said they want to have their coach in place by Saturday. The good news is G. Williams was not on the list which means he will be back with the Jets as their DC because the Browns are the last team looking for a HC.
    G. Williams was an absolute magician what he did with our shorthanded, often injured defense. He coached them up to a 7th ranked defense....2nd vs run. We would have been up shits Creek without a paddle if we needed to find a new DC to work with Gase. The continuity of having our players play in the same system for a second year can only be a positive going into next season.:)

Any word if Loggains was offered a position elsewhere?

the Browns don't make any sense.

they are in a good position where they have the only vacancy so they can hire whomever they want without worry about another team stealing their guy. And yet they are self imposing a Saturday deadline because they want to hire a coach before they hire a GM, so the coach can pick the GM.

    browns being the browns.

It is only a matter of time until Gase tries to make a power play and get rid of Williams. Williams is a Mac hire and a threat to an insecure egomaniac. There were reports at mid-season that the two were having conflict. One has to wonder if these stories were leaked by Gase.

The irony here of course is that the very little praise Gase is getting is solely because of the way Williams coached a group of practice squad guys and backups for the last 8 games of the season.

Please don’t take rumors and anonymous reports as fact. If Gase wanted Williams gone he’d be gone already.

One of the positives Gase has going for him is he seems to have put a quality staff in place.

Sources tell me Dowell is an elite coffee runner, easily top 3 at his position.

It has reported by many sources that Williams was a required part of the Rhule hire along with Monken. It makes sense that it was part of the Gase hire. In regards to Pollack I think most people can connect the dots there.

Defensive staff is fantastic, but that's on Gregg Williams. The offensive staff is horrendous, and it starts with the head coach who hasn't coached a competent offense in more than half a decade.

    I’ve always liked Jim Bob.

Pollock is very highly regarded even if he didn’t show much this year. I think that has more to do with the injuries and overall talent level of the OL though, we’ll see.

I also really like having Hines Ward on the staff and the players seem to love having him around.

People don’t seem to realize that if Gase goes, Williams and that defensive staff goes with him unless the Jets want to make him HC, which I seriously doubt would be a possibility.

Joe Vitt is the linebackers coach. Gase is married to Vitt's daughter. somehow though, we are supposed to believe Vitt is only here because of Gregg Williams.

oh yah, Gase is definitely batting out of his league btw

Can you show these to us? When has he deliberately ousted any of his own staff?

I really would like to know where these insecurity reports come from. They're made up out of thin air because the majority of you don't like his personality.
