We shouldn't get upset when we do poorly vs. a good team, because they are a good team. Our offense was horrible, but its OK, because the Jags have a good defense. Our defense was bad, but they have a good running game and tall recievers. Passes for everyone!
I think by now most people have realized that our defense is historically bad and crying about it isn't going to improve it any.
I'm willing to give them a pass for losing to the Jags, because I never thought we'd win that game. I'm also willing to give them a pass against the Patriots and Bears later on. We were 4-12 last year and added very few impact players. If we win anything more than 6 games this year, I consider it gravy. That being said, I'm NOT willing to give them a pass for the way we lost--missed tackles, blown blocks, turnovers and an overall lack of intensity. I'm not expecting a playoff berth, but I want to see improvement over last year. Sunday's game was a huge step back.
Everyone knew what are weakness were before the season. Complaining isn't going to change the fact that on paper the Jets are 4-12 team. Magini is doing a hell of a job of masquerading(sp) the as a team can compete . This year offense we invested in an O-Line and a QB. Next year, a d-line and running back. It's a progression.
That was game 5 of the rebuilding process. Did you really expect to beat an elite team? Did you see Ravens-Broncos last night? They put up 6 points through 3 quarters combined, and I think both "drives" were set up by a short field by the defense. Relax.
There's a difference between giving everyone a pass and having realistic expectations and a little bit of perspective. I expected a stronger showing on Sunday, but I didn't expect a win. You are extrapolating one performance by certain players into a reflection of their overall abilities and that is so logically incorrect that I don't want to waste my time explaining it. We got pounded, so did Buffalo, so did San Fran last week, why are you so shocked? It happens, it's a loss. It would have been a loss if the score was 24-21, so whatever, let's move on and not throw the whole team under the bus for one bad performance. Perspective....16 games.....big picture.....
Let's not forget the pounding the Steelers took, the Bengals took, and the Patriots took. I suppose those 3 teams are all garbage. Aside from the Steelers, I doubt anybody makes that argument. Teams have bad games, it's just the way the NFL season works. Just don't have them in the playoffs if you make it.
One question popped into my head after I saw your thread - Is there really no other way you can make people pay attention to you? How pathetic. I’d feel sorry for you if you weren't such an asswipe! Why do you waist your time creating a thread like this asswipe? I have no idea where the hell you get your crazy ideas. We ‘re 2-3 and we lost to three teams that are better than us right now. We don't have the personnel to be much more than an 8-8 team asswipe. If we win more games, then we will have exceeded expectations asswipe. Give your TEAM a chance asswipe!!!
