The only beef that I have with Mangini is that he is not giving Washington enough carries.

I'll let the stats speak for themselves.

    Leon Washington 7 71 346 49.4 4.9 23 2 0 0
    Kevan Barlow 7 79 236 33.7 3.0 11 5 1 0

Washington has over 100yds more with less carries and a way better YPC avg.

Its time to make the switch. Feed Neon

Barlow pushed his way into the lineup this week with his crying to the NY Times. Mangini better toughen up.

I think he should be assuming the same role but with Houston when he gets back. If Houston screws up then its Leon all the way

Yeah, I'm sure Leon's standing fumble will go a long way to showing Mangini he deserves the bulk of the work.

Leon has flashes of brilliance, and then a big whiff.

The only franchise RB currently employed by the Jets will probably never play another game.

I'm not defining his career by a fumble. As a matter of fact, previous to that fumble, I was saying to my brother that I thought Leon finally impressed me enough to be the starter.

However, he makes mental mistakes. That fumble, the lack of ability to read a pass rush and throw a decent block.

Right now, our RBBC is the answer for us. Just because Leon should be the starter for the New York Jets doesn't mean he should be a starter on a playoff team.

His play improves weekly, but until he plays consistently well, I am not ready to declare our search for a permanent RB over.

Your point is well taken. Look at Tiki Barber. Without all the fumblitis, he is one of the best RBs in the league.

He has the potential to be great, but he is still rough around the edges. People take one game and blow it up one way or the other. I just want people to give it some time with this kid.
