This guy has bust written all over him if the jets trade up to get him I will die. First off he has a extremely weak arm, second he had a tremendous supporting cast and third he had a major surgery. He is exactly what Pennington is.

    1. He doesn't have an extremely weak arm.

    2. You could say that each player had a tremendous supporting cast.

    3. The surgery was a minor one, and it didn't prevent him from reaching the national championship game last year.

THANK YOU! I have been saying this for so long... i may not have posted it, but i agree 100%.

He had 2 1st round RBs, great WRs, and possibly the best O-Line ever in college. He is an accurate QB with a below avg arm, just like Pennington. If he was on any team other than USC, he wouldnt be considered the top QB.

If Cutler & Leinart had switched teams as Frosh, cutler would be the top QB, and Leinart wouldnt be 1st round consideration

Cutler should be the Jets QB he fits the bill to perfection. He could make the throws in bad weather as seen at his pro day. Not afraid to take risks and trys to find ways to put himself on top as seen at the combine by being the only QB to lift. This is who the jets need especially when you face teams like the Pats and Steelers who practically throw there whole defense in your face.

I disagree. C Palmer had a good supporting cast, and most of the oline that protected him also protected leinart. Leinart has the second highest wonderlic score out of all the qb's, he has not a bullet for an arm but not a pennington-duck thrower either. He can get the ball anywhere, even without a great supporting cast. Remember, the NFL still has better players than every college team.

but most of all, Leinart BADLY wants to be a Jet. That can work in our advantage and make it easy to get to the 2 pick.

If you even watched a lick of Leinarts play you would know he does not have an extremely weak arm.. I like Cutler but Leinart is gonna be a stud and if you get a chance to get him, he is the guy to rebuild your team around..

Couldn't agree more. I love Cutler, and in a lot of ways I prefer him to Leinart.

That being said, a lot of this stuff about Leinart is just crap. He has an above-average arm, near-perfect mechanics, and he's the consummate winner and leader who plays his best when it's all on the line. Hmm, sounds like the scouting report on Tom Brady.

About his arm strength: has anyone who knocks his arm actually seen him play? He doesn't have a cannon, but he throws one of the best deep balls in the nation. He puts perfect touch on every ball and always puts his receivers in place to make a play.

As for the stuff about his supporting cast...so Cutler is somehow more prepared for the NFL because he threw to crappy receivers and ran for his life behind a Swiss cheese OL? Does this mean we should only take a QB from an average college team? I don't understand it.

I don't understand where this whole arm strength craze has come from, granted he doesn't have an Elway arm but it is every bit as strong as Brady's. Last I checked he has had a bit of success right?? Bottomline is if we have a chance to get Leinart it will be worth the compensation it takes to get him..

I agree...I think people are just so tired of Pennington that they want someone who is the opposite, like Cutler (strong arm, some scrambling ability), even though Leinart is clearly the best QB in this draft.

I just have a feeling Leinart is going to be one of those QB's that if you put pressure on him hes going to set an interception record. The reason i like Cutler is he has that certain toughness that other players could build off of. One thing I like about Leinart that I feel Cutler might lack is the great ability to read defenses like he does.

I am here over in AZ near ASU, you get to see the PAC-10 quite a bit

on TV. Leinart is the real deal..The guy has all the poise of an NFL QB it is

ridiculous. If you watched any of the games you see a guy who is calm,

intelligent and has a good arm. I would love the Jets to pick him up, the only

problem is we have a bunch of holes we need to to address in this draft

and by giving so much to NO for Leinart will hurt us.If we do get him we have

a QB that could step in and run a NFL offense, which is what Pete Carrol's

running over there. We will wait and see...

You can't compare Lienart to Palmer as a pro prospect. If Palmer was coming out in this class he would be the consensus No. 1. Better NFL tools.

    Leinart Is Good

But not to the point where we have to give up a 2nd and third just to jump up two spots to get him. This team needs to be rebuilt, we dont have to throw away all our draft picks just to get one player. We have serious issues on our O line and with the impending departure of Abe we have defensive issues also.

Holy freaking misinformation, Batman! There isn't a single truth in there, with the exception of the supporting cast, of which he was one himself.

Get over yourself, dude. You are totally wrong on this one. Just totally wrong.
