Hey there, not sure if this was discussed in another thread but I was wondering what the Jets Fans' opinions were on this.

The last play where it was clearly going to be a hail mary type throw, the announcers talked about putting in Brad Smith since he had a stronger arm and could reach the end zone.

What do you guys think of that? Would that have hurt Pennington's confidence or do you think it would've been a wise substitution for that type of situation?

Just an outsider's curiousity since you guys know the team better then any.

    Thanks for the responses!

 How about the swinging gate? That's a good one.

They should have ran a play like the Randel El play in the Superbowl. Oh well.

I believe that what Pennington lacks compared to Smith in arm strength he makes up for in ability to read the field, so I believe that Mangini made the right decision to keep Chad in the game. I think that Smith was brought in because his athleticism gives him a chance to make a freak catch or draw a flag, and because it put a little doubt in the Patriots defense.

Actually the last play was going to be a hook and lateral. McCareins was going to lateral to B. Smith.

Really? Where did you hear that? It's certainly an interesting playcall.

How could you know this ... I wondered if that was the intent? If it was going to be a hook and lateral, why wouldn't they do it in the middle of the field though?

good point.. why would you box yourself in a corner while trying to run that play . You would want the most space possible to make a play with the ball.. but it is a good idea

I believe there was some time left. iF j MAC caught it, he would of went out of bounds with a 2 seconds left. And it would of been a lot more feasible to score from there.
