This season has been pretty abysmal, so there aren't a great amount of individual milestones to be made. That being said, there are a few, albeit relatively mediocre, individual milestones that may be reached before the end of the KC game... Here are some notable ones: Jerricho Cotchery- Needs 92 yards to reach 1,000 for the first time in his career, after coming up just short with 962 last season.... Thomas Jones- Needs 37 yards to reach 1,000 for the 3rd consecutive season.... Although our line has made Jones into a bit of a disappointment, reaching the unreasonably low milestone of 1,000 yards will make our FO look good.... David Harris- Broke the 100 tackle mark already, despite only starting half the season. Our Offensive Line- Needs to allow 6 more sacks to hit the 50-sack plateau.. That just sucks... Sorry, there weren't enough positive milestones, so I decided to throw that one in..... If there are any others (career milestones maybe? I didn't look into them) that you can think of, feel free to post them... EDIT: I've got one, albeit an insignificant one: Leon Washington needs 69 rushing yards over two games to reach 1,000 for his 2-year career... Not bad for a scat-back
Yeah, if you stay healthy, 1,000 yards is not much at all in the NFL really. It is like 63 yards a game. Oh well.
The Jets have rushed for 1,434 Yds this season. I guess theoretically itl be like have a 1,500 yd back... Although thats a combination of a about 4 guys between, Jones, Washington, Clemens and Brad Smith
When we had Martin that one year he had 1696 yards and Lamont Jordan had about 500 just to give you a comparison.
Individual milestones don't mean anything in the context of a season this bad. Watching Adrian Murrell try to become the Jets first 1,000 yard rusher in more than a decade in 1996 is what taught me that lesson. The worst Jets team I had ever watched was going to do something that none of the teams since 1985 had accomplished. Big whoop-dee.
Here is a great milestone: I hope Pennington doesn't fall victim to our pathetic offensive line and sustain injury. That would be horrible.
Just an incredible stat.........Harris/Revis......two of the best defensive players taken in the entire 07's draft. The future is bright for these young men.
