Pitts is heading into the 5th year extension of his rookie deal and has not lived up to the hype. All signs point to ATL letting him walk after this year. I’m thinking he could be had for pennies on the dollar, like an early day 3 pick. I’m not a big trade proposal guy so I wanted to get opinions on if this is a crazy idea or not. Coincidentally, he’s currently in Dubai vacationing wth our very own new QB.
Eventually you get to the point where you just have to let the draft hype go. We've gone far beyond that point with Kyle Pitts. I'd *maybe* trade a very back end pick for him, but i wouldn't want to be the team signing him to a contract extension. Certainly not while staring down a deep draft at TE.
I don’t think Pitts fits the type of guy they are trying to get. They are looking at guys who practice squad/fringe roster types
We’ve probably had the worst production in NFL history at any single position (TE) over the past 15 years since Dustin Keller moved on. I’m open to most options to make it better whether it be a guy name Stone or trading a low round pick for a bust.
I gave a "like" to this post even though the pun is so obvious. Does this mean the Jets made a smart move releasing Tanzel Smart? Smart is now the Defensive Quality Control Assistant for the Dallas Cowboys. Hey, maybe he is Smart!
I never get the Jets why they don’t acquire or draft a high end TE. I mean it s huge for a young QBs they had over the years.
true but you realize its been almost 20 years since the Jets have selected a tight end in the first round
For the draft, the only TE taken in the top 20 of the daft in the last 20 years that panned out was Bowers. Every other on, including the last “revolutionary” TE in Pitts, have all been disappointments.
