I just finished reading the comic. I was disappointed how they dumbed down the violence so much in the first one. Maybe this time around they will do it justice. Jim Carrey looks pretty funny in it, but he could easily make or break the whole thing. Anyone else looking forward to it in August?
I've enjoyed the comics. Kick-Ass is one of my favorite movies. I thought there was plenty of violence in the first movie.... The second one doesn't look great from the trailer, but I'll probably go see it.
SPOILER QUESTION ABOUT COMICS... Is it true that Hit Girl gets raped in the comics?? if so, thats crazy and a bit much right?
I'm going to see it tonight with my brother. I have only looked at a few reviews, but mostly they say it isn't as good as the first movie. That is fine with me, since I loved Kick Ass. I have low expectations, which usually helps me enjoy movies as well. I'm hopeful.....
It was not better than the original, but it was pretty much what you expect from Kick-Ass. Grotesque violence and ton of foul language...I dont think the critics understand that.
exactly what I expected from this movie: over the top violence, fun fights, crude language and humor, one liners. I enjoyed it. Makes me want to watch the first one also

hahah the whole villian crew names. The overtop crude humor. This was just a fun movie for me, kind of like Avengers. I was smiling during the whole movie and it did what it wanted to do really well.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS, DON'T READ BELOW Just saw it. I didn't see in the theaters but I thought that character was coming back even without the scene. The whole, someone isn't dead in movies/TV unless you see them like that. The glass scene with Hit Girl at the end, I loved it. The music behind fight scenes are fun too. I'm repeating myself again, but just a fun movie. I enjoyed the whole thing, even the Mean Girls stuff. Oh the adrenaline you knew was going to be important, but the eyes she got and the fight scene after, ridiculous.
The Hit Girl comics (came after Kick Ass 2) are great. I am looking forward to seeing Kick Ass 2. Hopefully it is better than the poor box office turnout suggests.
