While this would be an awesome first round for us, I can't see us trading down so that our division rival can draft a potential franchise quarterback. Other comments: Vernon Davis far too low, Maroney a bit too high, and not going to jump Williams.
I'd love DeAngelo and McNeill, but I could never see us trading with our rival, letting them take their QB of the future.
We probably aren't going to draft a RB this year, let alone with our first pick...and we would never trade with Miami unless they gave us a future first rounder and their second rounder this year.
I believe LenDale and DeAngelo are on pretty even ground. It's going to come down to team preference, speed vs power, deciding who is taken first
Not only that, but Deangelo has alot more milage on his wheels...and has question marks with durability and pass blocking which is underrated for RB's...
you know that would never happen, but it could be a smart idea if we were so convinced that jay cutler won't be anything special as long as miami gave the whole farm basically, if our FO feels that Jay Cutler who Miami would obviosuly be targeting, is not the real deal
neither would i...but if they gave us a ridiculous deal AND for whatever reason our FO had a strong belief cutler will bust or just be an average qb you pull the trigger IMO...a huge gamble no matter which way you slice it
I would be pretty dissapointed if we have the 4th pick in the draft and the best player we come out of the first round with is Deangelo Williams or Marcus McNeil.
i guess it's just personal opinion, but deangelo is a spectacular player...he's not getting the hype, but i have a strong feeling will be a superstar in this league i don't like this because i don't think we need rb rd. 1 this year unless its bush somehow
The more likely trade, if the Saints sign Brees, is Miami to the #2 spot for Leinart. I don't know if they have anything NO wants to be able to move up that far, but it would make the most sense. An interdivision trade of this magnitude is not happening.
Screw that. I would stay at 4 and grab Leinart which I still beleive we could get considering NO is close to a deal with Brees. I also would stay there just so Miami doesnt get a good franchise QB and they suck for more years to come.
