Isn't this like the 3rd thread you start about this? I would like to keep him also, but this doesn't need its own thread man. Go Jets!

im sure there teams are callin him off the hook for his services, dont be suprised if he resigns with the jets by mid summer, maybe start as a practice player and eventually get back to being a special teamer

Hello Mrs. Wright, how is Kenyatta doing these days? Well, I for one wouldn't mind seeing him working our specials this year, but I think it's about 50/50 right now with the signing of Chatham and the news of some of the other LBs we are looking at...

I agree I liked k. wright but with vilma, hobson, barton, brown, chatham, mcclover, and a LB draft pick I just dont see room for him. do you think we will carry 8 LB's?

    good point.

though i think it helps to break it down by position:

    we have enough OLB's -- Barton/Brown/McClover

and the others are more tweeners in that they can play either OLB/ILB -- Chatham/Hobson (Vilma being the only starting pure ILB). Hobson played some ILB at Michigan, and while he's played OLB in the NFL, he has the suited build for ILB as he isn't very quick, yet a solid tackler. Don't forget, we hired Michigan's D-coordinator who's familiar with Hobson; so in the even we need to move Hobson inside, the transition should be smooth.

Which leaves Wright. I'm not sure he does have a spot on this roster, but like Vilma, he's the only other pure ILB. If the organization feels they can find someone better with one of our 12 draft picks, then Wright is a goner. But with Vilma/Chatham/Hobson all capable of playing ILB, we may not need another ILB on the roster.

Essentially, Wright is there for Special Teams, and depending on his contract, that may not be worth it.

    cheers

Actually, the Jets normally carried 8-9 LBs. And if Maginin is truly going to a 4-3, 3-4 hybrid, there may be room for more on the roster. Wright is a huge ST talent, I love watching him as a gunner spear a player. I will be dissappointed if he isn't re-signed.

I would not mind Wright resigned for special teams use and depth at LB core.

    He has potential.
