What is Keller worth? I can't see him being worth more than $6 mill per year. But I could see him looking for $10 mill per. Unfortunately, the way Tanny hands out contracts he may actually get that big money.

I'm just saying, Tanny seems to hand out crazy contracts. Holmes, Sanchez, Pace, Scott, even David Harris... all overpaid in my opinion. Like I said, I think Keller may be worth about $6 mill but he is gonna be asking for more, and the way Tanny hands out contracts, who knows.

He is already making more than $4 mill.

Edit: Actually I was wrong, he is making $3.98 mill this year.

I seen Jake Ballard of the Giants got cut, not sure why or what. I know its injury related but he might be worth looking at perhaps.

Keller is worth 5 million tops. No team in the NFL would give Keller 10 million it would be a joke.

Let him determine his value this season. No better way to find out.

He's been solid over the course of his career but not outstanding.

Keller is a great TE he makes things happen when he gets the ball. Sanchez needs to learn to checkdown on the TE when in trouble and hopefully Sparano uses him unlike Schotte.

Sanchez has learned that. In 2011 they checked down all the fucking time.... it was an East-West passing game. Sparano better call a more vertical game.

Well Gronk set the market at about 9 mil per year. So 10 for Keller would be effing nuts.

I say about 5.2 mil per year is reasonable. But he could also become expendable based on how well Cumberland and Smith play.

I like Keller, but he disappears for long stretches (sometimes games at a time). I got tired of seeing the ball hit him in the helmet/facemask last year. He's good, but not worth overpaying at all.

Agreed... 4 to 5 mill per season depending on stuff like guaranteed money etc.

I'd like to retain him more because of his familiarity with Sanchez than anything... I really don't think he fits our O very much (unless we run 2TE sets more).

FWIW, I think if you put Keller in Green Bay's offense he would look like a better TE than Jermichael Finley, and he got 7.5M per year

Keller would be a monster if Brees or Brady was passing to him.

remember how when we drafted keller everyone talked about how he was this special te/wr prototype guy with a little bit of size who was really a wr in a te body... who couldnt block worth a shit.

yeah he still cant block worth a shit, however he has been under utilized terribly the past few years. he has actually been the key to the offense when he does well and gets the ball the offense does well. when he disappears or nacho decides not to look him up it is usually bad for the offense.

that said he is completely expendable unless they decide to actually throw him the ball. and i think he is still fairly expendable simply because he doesnt block very well.

I wonder how much of that was scheme related rather then player related. I remember several games where you could just tell they were game playing with Keller being prominent in the play calling and answering the bell. I cant remember any Tight end in recent history other then josh baker who has more production the Keller. Pay the kid! Not 5 or 6 mill a year either. He deserves a 25 mill deal over 4 or 5 and back load it into third and 4th year. Now that s a Tanny deal!

Absolutely not. Finley is better than Keller and its not all that close.

He's bigger, more athletic, and a much bigger mismatch for defenses. And yes Finley drops a lot of passes but so does Keller.
