Hi Everyone - hope you enjoyed the offseason. Getting excited for the 2006 season. While I'm not counting us out from being a contender yet, I expect to divide my energy this year between cheering for the Jets and laughing at the Chiefs. Just thinking about Herm spending more time on excuse management than game management has me giddy. In that spirit, please pass on good KC Chief fan boards and journalists to keep up with. If this has been posted over the past couple of months, apologies for the re-post.
You may want to wait a yar or 2 before you start laughing at KC, wait until we are good again and KC starts to go down b/c KC will be better than us this year and will be a contender in the West.
NYJ I do not fully subscribe to this & it is possible that KC will fall further then we have this year with Herm at the helm. Even the KC papers have warned there readers to lower there expectations & all the camp reports I have read have all been bascially quite negative about this upcoming season
Three years from now, people will recognize Herm as the best coach the Chiefs have had since Hank Stram. That would be Jet luck.
The Chiefs good ... Herm is there head coach only a matter of time before he runs them into the ground.
Remember when Jet fans were laughing at the Pats for hiring Belichick? it became even mre comical to Jet fan after 5-11 in 2000 but I think the laughter has since died down.
Herm was on the radio yesterday saying the preseason is his chance to find his players "weaknesses" so he can play to their "strengths". The announcer was like..."dah...what???". Herm was implying that his team is strugguling b/c he has put them in a position to fail so he can pinpoint the teams weaknesses. So by finding the team's weaknesses Herm will know "how not to play", but what about finding the teams "srengths", so he will know "how to play".
"You see, I intend on exploiting my players' weaknesses so I can see their strengths. You always find the good part of the cow by eating the bad part first. So in comparison, anything tastes better. My daddy used to tell me "Herm, you got to snack on that ass before you get to the prime rib. When you taste a cow's ass you can finally appreciate chuck." I take my coaching philosophy the same way. I put em out there to taste some ass, so when we lose by 3 points we like the taste of chuck. You get it?
It is amazing to me all those last few years supporters of Herm now all are want to carve him up & stick forks/knives into him. From the beginning of the Herm era I was there constantly warning everybody that he was a valueless as teats on a bull but none of you listen. Now all of you are so brave to take shots at him cause he is no longer associated with the NYJs. IMHO all of U are really have no guts to being doing what U are doing since U did not do it when he here.
Part of the reason I was not upset with the compensation package we received for Herman Edwards was that I saw the Chiefs doing us a major favor. You can't expect to win anything in a salary cap league with a coach who needs a star at every position, can't make adjustments, and consistently couldn't have his team ready when the regular season started. As long as he was here, we would be consistently GOOD, but we'd never be great. -X-
I know of a real good one. PM me and I'll give you the link. I don't think I'm allowed to post it here.
