Justin Miller is expected to sign today. That's exciting news but I would have loved Woodhead to get a shot! Link below: http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2009/10/would_ny_jets_bring_back_kick.html
Happy for him and for us... we'll still have a solid KR and he'll get the chance to show the other teams what he can do and hopefully find a spot as a returner somewhere next year.
Basically no matter who we have put back there to return kicks under Westhoff we have had success but the 2 best by far were Leon(the best) and Miller(2nd best).
I was thinking about him during the Raiders game, but I thought he had signed elsewhere...It'll be good to get him back to return kicks for us.
I really like this signing. Miller is electric on kick returns and I look forward to seeing how good of shape he is in. If he comes in and is in good shape I think he could make a big impact in the return game. Definitely shouldn't return punts but maybe he can learn a little from Revis and actually get on the field at corner at some point.
We don't want his poor CB play to rub off on Revis. I like the signing. He is still very young and has a lot of talent returning kicks. He can also be an emergency nickle back in case we get banged up in our secondary again.
Holy crap, I forgot he was still only 25. 2005 seems like so long ago. He should be every bit as explosive as he was before. I agree that it might have been nice to see Woodhead get a chance to return kicks, but Miller is a proven commodity on KOR.
